I put in a claim for water damage to my home and they approved immediately and paid for the contractor to restore. They did an excellant job.

My son was hit by an LLC company dump truck that was insured by Westfield. We filed the police report and the claim, but they are saying we are responsible for the cost of getting it towed and storage because the particular dump truck may or may not have had active coverage. I just don't understand, and the claim representative cannot explain.

I had a particularly disappointing experience with Westfield Insurance. Unfortunately, the broker I dealt with was unresponsive and didn't fulfill his role in accommodating my needs as a customer. To make matters worse, after I removed a garage-kept car from my policy, I was surprised to see my monthly insurance payments increased by $60. This experience was far from what I expected, and it left me feeling frustrated with both the service and communication.

My husband and I have homeowners' insurance and car insurance through Westfield. Midway through the one-year policy period, Westfield wants to increase our premium by $315.00 just to continue our insurance. This is price gouging at its worst. Before this, I was not aware a policy contract could be changed by one party just because they want more money. We are seniors as well.

I'm very disappointed in Westfield as a whole. We had to submit a claim for a broken kitchen drain pipe. This was the first claim we ever filed with them for our home, and we just received a letter stating that they were not renewing our policy. I expected the rate to increase, as it seems you are penalized for using the insurance you pay for, but I did not expect to be non-renewed. I thought the whole point of having insurance was to be able to use it. Not to mention that the contractor they recommended for the repairs to our floor, due to having to dig through the foundation, actually left our home in worse shape than before the repairs were needed. I definitely do not recommend them! I would have selected zero stars if possible.

I had car insurance for 50 years. I drive less, and as a senior, instead of receiving a discount, they kept raising rates. I drive a company vehicle and have put 0 miles on my vehicles. My agent said rates just go up. When I asked what went up, she said she didn't know. I called the company, and they said they couldn't help me. I switched to a different company, saved $107 a month, and got my house insurance for $1500 less a year with grouping. Westfield employees said, 'Oh well,' and I keep receiving cancellation notices from them, saying I didn't pay the policy. I called, and they were so rude. I wish I had switched years ago.

Very unhappy with the car rental policy. The car is drivable but not recommended for highway driving, so the rental company would not cover a rental for an out-of-town weekend that is coming up. This is because it is still drivable around town. The policy makes no sense—I can get a rental for thirty straight days and hope parts come in and body work can be done if I take the rental now. But they won't give me a two-day rental for a weekend of highway driving and then for the 7 days later on when the car is being repaired. Plus, they made me feel like I was trying to take advantage when I have been a 20+ year customer for car, home, and umbrella policies.

I started with Westfield at 16 years old and have been a client for 30 years. My daughter turned 16, and unfortunately, she had an accident, so we processed a claim for $8,500. This event caused Westfield to not renew our coverage. I was a client for 30 years! For 15 years prior to this claim, I had not made a single claim. I highly encourage you to be proactive and drop Westfield before they drop you for a typical life event. It's sad to see a company tout its 'A Rating' for economics instead of loyalty to its 30-year customers.

Horrible Customer Service. The Insurance Adjuster will not follow through on the claim. The car is at the body shop and we were told they cannot locate parts for the brand new car we bought two months ago. The insurance adjuster says it is out of their hands and does not want to follow up on the body parts or provide any options. Meanwhile, we are paying $280 per week for a rental, even after our rental insurance expired after a month.

Whether you are talking about car insurance, homeowners, or rental coverage, there will always be a struggle and some dubious tactics attempted by this company. They will do and say almost anything to avoid paying out a claim. For example, they told us that our house roof was damaged by hail but our detached garage wasn't. Hmm, I'm not sure hail falls in only one area. No matter what it is, you will always be arguing with these individuals. I would not recommend them.

Very disappointed in Westfield Insurance. We just bought a home and decided to use Westfield Insurance for homeowners insurance. We had been with them for approximately two weeks when we received a cancellation letter in the mail, stating that they were canceling our policy due to the condition of our roof. However, our roof passed inspection before purchasing the home and there are no issues. Ten days after we received the cancellation letter, they sent us a check in the mail for our premium and then canceled our homeowners insurance on May 1st. They didn't give us a chance to resolve the issue or even provide a fair explanation before canceling our policy and sending back our premium. We were given less than a 30-day notice for the cancellation. We were not home and were out of town when the letter arrived. By the time we read it, it was too late. We didn't receive a phone call or email, just one letter. Very disappointed; I guess now, on Monday, we will be searching for another homeowners insurance company.

We are being canceled by our insurance company, Westfield, due to 'too many incidents.' We have been faithful customers of this company for well over 10 years (closer to 15), having never submitted a homeowner's claim and, for many years, never submitting automobile insurance claims. In the last few years, our daughter has been hit twice by uninsured motorists, totaling one vehicle and nearly totaling another. In another incident, she was hit by an insured motorist, resulting in minor damage. The company refused to make any concessions based on the many years of payments, not being late, and paying for full coverage specifically for occasions like the above. How is this fair to consumers?
