Windhaven Insurance

Cancelled my policy a week before it renewed and they still took money out and won't answer the phone or chat now. I have been trying for days but the call center is down and the emails get kicked back and the chat never gets answered. I got a letter in the mail acknowledging they received my cancellation/non-renewal letter yet they showed it renewed online and took out almost $300 in a down payment. Now I can't seem to figure out why they think it's renewed and cannot get a hold of anyone. There is a document in my documents kept online that is labeled cancellation policy yet when I click it I get an error. It's unprofessional and ridiculous and I am sure they will somehow tell me they are keeping some of my money even though they received the letter in February 25 and the policy wasn't set to renew until March 2.

Absolute piece of shit. This company is fucken trash. Criminals they don’t return calls and are very rude. Every time you call it goes straight to voicemail and they don’t even return those calls. Even the manager don’t pick up the phone, because they know that their drivers are almost always at fault. They provide non standard insurance policies for people with high risk. This company has filed for bankruptcy! I have a claim and they are telling me the state is now in charge of the claims but i cant get new insurance until my car is fixed so they are telling me hopefully someone from the state will be in contact with me within 30 days. Anyone else having this problem?

If I could give this insurance company zero stars, I would. My husband and I had been using this insurance company for only a few months before they canceled our policy, without notice, due to a $32 "endorsement payment" that was not made, that was put on our account without notice, and was supposed to be due on Christmas day. When I asked them what they payment was for, I was told 3 different things that it could have been for, so they don't even know. Mind you, we had paid our insurance for the month of December and they canceled our policy 3 days after the endorsement payment was not made AND the endorsement payment was nowhere on our original payment schedule. Even though our payment for the month of December was supposed to cover us until January, they canceled at the end of December. They didn't even send us a notification that our policy had been canceled, I found out when I attempted to get my license in the state that we moved to that I had been driving without insurance for 5 days. When I called to get it resolved, they said there was no way to reactivate the account and that I would have to start a new policy and pay a new $500 down payment. I even tried to log into our account to see our documents and they are denying us access to see any documents. To continue, they attempted to change our payment amounts on our pay schedule without notice but luckily, we were able to download the documents prior to this situation to see the changes they made with no consent or notification. THIS INSURANCE COMPANY IS A SCAM. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GET INSURED WITH THEM. After seeing all of these other reviews, I am surprised they are still in business. But clearly they are getting away with stealing money from their customers!!!!

I had a minor accident against a policy holder with this insurance company and I had to go way up the latter for them to create and estimate that was way too low for the needed repair, now most economic shop I was able to find still waiting on the company to approve the difference that's barely over $200 more than their estimate. Getting close to the 2 month mark and my vehicle still not fixed. This company is a mess, very irresponsible, don't recommend this company to anyone. Stay far, far away from Windhaven, there is no reason for such a long wait for such a minor repair.

One of their policy owners hit me going almost 40mph - luckily I drive a big SUV, but NO ONE will call me back. I feel sorry for anyone else having to deal with this company.

I am surprised that this company is still allowed to sell insurance in Florida, or anywhere else. I have witnessed my partner call on a daily basis for two weeks after one of Windhaven's auto policy holders ran into her car and was ticketed by police for failure to stop. Windhaven finally called back and told the innocent party to seek reimbursement from her own auto policy. Additionally, they offered her less than 25% of the two written estimates for repairs to her new car. The body shops do not want to deal with Windhaven because their experience is that they do not get paid or have to wait for months before collecting. Lawyers roll their eyes and shrug their shoulders when asked about Windhaven. After researching the company further, it is clear to me that Windhaven is "a different" kind of company as they proudly claim on their website. However, it's the kind of "different" that no honest or well-serving company could ever be proud of. Again, how does a company like this maintain their license to sell auto insurance in the State of Florida? Mr. David Altmaier, Insurance Commissioner, are you or any of your staff watching this?

Bad customer service. No accountability for thier actions. No core values at all. I wouldn't recommend this to my ememy. How is this company still in business! I give Windhaven a zero..the worst of the worst. Customer is rude and inconsiderate.

This is total B.S. Customer Service is a joke no one knows anything at all about insurance. Idiots with attitude. On 9/4 removed a car from policy, and paid 90.00 because premium statement had already been sent out Preminum due date on the 13 th.Told next installment would be 46.00 . Called the next week told policy would be 44.00 Had been paying via phone and online. Spoke with a supervisor,( Cannon) after receiving notice for 126.she said 33.74 would be Oct's preminum after an hour+ on the phone.They then attempted to debit my account 33.74. Received Preminum notice for 33.74 mailed 9/23 due on 10/5...Called again 1.5 hours spoke with another "Mgr" ,Michael .This is the 4 the call at this point. When I went to pay the 33.74- I AM THEN TOLD TO PAY 67.00 with ludicrous excuse as to why I should! ATTY.GENERAL 800/252-3439 here I come. BBB, and anyone else who will allow me to file a complaint against these scamster thieves.

any person giving this company a rating above 1 star is an employee. They are not just incompetent - it is far worse than that. Their awful reputation in the industry is well deserved. Do not make the mistake of using this company - they are criminal and should not even be in business. Typical hold times for customer service is I have no idea because I hung up after 90 minutes. After my policy cancellation, they waited 3 months and then came back and hit my checking account for "missed" payments -- even though I had the Notice of Cancellation with the official exact date and time the policy cancelled, they snuck back 3 months later and helped themselves to my money thru an auto deduction.

I've gotten 5 letters, all dated the same day, all sent the same day and all recieved on the same day all saying different prices I owe for the same month. This company CLEARLY does not know what they are doing at all. It's like the hire people off the street and let them do this job without training and without any management at all.

I called yesterday almost in panic mode because my policy had canceled but Jennifer quickly spring into action and saved the day. I am so very grateful she was very patient with me as to not being computer savvy and walked me through everything step by step. She went above and beyond during the call which is rare but very much appreciated especially since my call hold time to speak to someone was over an hour.Thank You again Jennifer !

They deserve less than one star! Horrible customer service! They place you on hold for hours and hours and then transfer you and keep transferring you until you just get tired of holding. I wish I had known about them before buying a policy. Please do not buy from them no matter how cheap their rates are.

GARBAGE. Thank god I never had an accident under their policy because they are garbage. You literally can't get anyone to help you. Anyone who gives this company a good review is being paid or they are being held at gunpoint. How they're still in business is beyond me. If there were a negative star rating, I would use it. One star is just waaaaaaaay too generous.

Would not even leave one star if I could. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS INSURANCE. Go to Geico or Statefarm. I thought I was saving some money going with Windhaven. I have an excellent driving record and was an excellent customer. I got into a car accident 4 months ago and it was the other drivers fault. Started my claim with Permanent General who was just as bad..... but that is another review. Long story short after a month with them it was determined that I had to subjugate through my own insurance. Worst company ever. 4 months from the accident and I still do not have my car back. Miscommunication daily from my adjuster which included at one point a phone call from my adjuster telling me my car was going to be totalled.... after spending over a week looking for a new vehicle I found out that this was not the case... but I only found that out by trying to cancel the insurance on the only vehicle! The amount that I am needing to come up with out of pocket goes up daily as does my stress level. Needless to say that Windhaven is no longer my insurance company as I have switched to Geico... someday I may get my car back and I will chalk this up to a lesson learned the hard way. Read reviews before you purchase car insurance or anything for that matter. If I had this story may have gone a little different.
