My due date was the 13 and I paid the 15th and they do not give any grace period and charged a late fee...if it hadnt have been for that I would given a better review...another greedy company!
I am not being critical of the credit card or company itself, but merely the two calls I made to them, and how one or both calls and associates I spoke to can be personally degrading and/or unknowledgeable with what they tell you. Please take what reps may say with a grain of salt as the miscommunication or lack of training phone personnel has dropped my credit score by about 70 pts. To make a long story short, I had attempted to make a payment with a credit card over the phone and was told the only way to pay via credit card as opposed to providing a routing and account number for checking (as I had a two-month gap in employment to care for a sick mother and checking balance was low at the time). Having made the attempt online, I failed and had a report to the credit bureau that showed 30+ days late. After calling a second time, I was basically insulted more than I have been most times in life. That second call was just disrespectful and degrading. I was told that the ONLY way to pay was over the phone and I had only called the first time to avoid a $4 late fee. I was told that was noted and the final word and there is NO WAY to pay online and I was lying about the whole call. This is my only late payment to any creditor or lender in the last 10 years of my life. Its really ashamed as if I had been told I was able to pay by phone with a credit card as the second rep said it was the only way, I would have certainly done so on the phone with the first call, as that was the ENTIRE point and reason for the call. Hard to make this stuff up. I am a top local guide for google, with hundreds of reviews and over a million views (mostly positive, but all honest). I am hoping these calls were at least recorded because if not, Credit One has basically ruined my credit for multiple years to come simply because their employees did not provide correct information.
I was lucky to get a credit line because I usually get turned down for cards, but considering the percentage rate and how Firestone overcharges for repairs I guess it makes sense. One thing I didn’t like was being charged $98 the first month and wasn’t told why. There was a $29 late fee but I didn’t even receive a statement until it was too late… and if the usual minimum is $34 where did they get $98?
I got this card to use at tires plus for new tires and maintenance on my vehicle. They do not have an app and the only way to make automatic payments is by calling in to their customer service and they get your payment info and will only set up your payments for six months at which time it expires and they start charging late fees. Well you can see how easy it would be to forget that you need to renew the automatic withdrawal but not only that, this last time I found out they had lowered my credit limit without warning so my credit rating dropped by 20 points! I had the automatic payments set up for too low of an amount which was because I used the card again. So they just never contact you for any reason unless you're delinquent and even then they don't let you know that something is wrong without messing with you somehow. I'm so done with this company! I will pay this card off and never use it again!
If there were negative starts I would give it to this credit company. In January of 2020 (1/5/2020 to be exact) this HORRIBLE credit agency ran a HARD inquiry on my credit report after my identity was stolen. Someone tried to fraudulently purchase tires on a very high end vehicle in Ohio and I live in California. I have explained to this company on NUMEROUS occasions that this was a fraudulent attempt. They have made PROMISE and PROMISE to remove the hard inquiry from 2 credit reporting agencies and now a year and a half later here we are. NOTHING has been done. If you are an honest, hard working individual that believes in the sanctity of YOUR good name NEVER trust these people. NEVER. They will allow criminals through their system sloppy, relaxed system to try and open lines of credit under your good name and do NOTHING to help you when you have been a victim of identity theft. I'm starting to honestly think this credit company was in cahoots with whomever STOLE my identity... because they certainly DO NOT care about the victim. LAZY, SLOPPY, and JUST BAD NEWS. RUNNNNN!!! from this credit agency.
