Someone in India has no business attending to my issues here in the states. Rude, incapable of resolution and unable to address my concerns. How our government is o.k. with this is beyond my comprehension. If it were not for the 130 character requirements I would have made this much more streamline and precise. This is of course in place to discourage people from placing their reviews here. But, if Equifax wants people to babble on like their "customer service" people from India, then fine, I will babble on. Dear Equifax......stop injuring people with unreasonable drops in their credit score. Completely without reason or recourse. If scores are determined by the condition of wall street, then that should change. This should be about ordinary people who diligently use their credit wisely and do not abuse the system. Transunion does NOT behave like this. Only you. You want people to purchase services from you but on the same hand abuse them with drops in their scores without reason. How can you defend your practices like this? Do you find your sales of services to be adequate? I think not. If you going to draw the attention of people to your services then change your tactics. You should be the exception, not the rule.
I have a lot of issue with the people that work there, no nationality mention. Basically ALL the employees there are all INCOMPETENT, they have very poor vocabulary, all of them can't do their job. When you call, they give you a death ear as if they do not understand English. If you are in a good mood and call them, I can absolutely guarantee you that he/she will get you in the BAD mood of their unprofessionalism and incompetence. Do not use this company at all. I've been dealing with them for a month, what a pain in a butt.
Equifax is horrendous and they are a complete fraud, I ordered credit monitoring and canceled on the same day. I sent them the email with the cancellation notice and they responded they will look into it. It took them exactly 30 days to respond and Equifax almost kept the full amount and prorated $2.00 from the full amount. Don’t trust this company, they are scammers, please don’t do anything with Equifax involving your credit card, they are sneaky and they will keep your money, they also outsource jobs outside the USA. Stay away from Equifax!
Well since my identity was stolen from them and I didn't know it at the time. I started paying them for protection. funny huh. Well, with my settlement and after people bought stuff opened credit cards me spending all my time on phone and then going and making a police report I got like 68$ from them. Should not be allowed to do what they do. And I've been paying them every month to monitor my stuff. I paid them more than they paid me. There are better services out there I just canceled with them. Do the same.
Unable to login and unable to get help, either online or on the phone. Requesting information from years ago, that I do not remember or have on hand. Presented actual credit information, and still, they want to provide information, that it's been closed. Needed to go to another credit agency to do that, but unable to, because they wanted to send slow mail to do that. I wanted to just go online and make a dispute. Impossible.

How can I file a complaint against Equifax?
You can file a complaint against Equifax by logging it online using the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's complaint tool or by submitting it to your state's attorney general. Once you file an online complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) or state attorney general, those entities will forward the complaint to Equifax and work to get a response from them. Equifax's customer service team will in turn look into your complaint and report back with steps followed (or that will be followed in the future) to resolve the complaint.
If you file your complaint through the CFPB, they will publish it on their website (without personally identifiable information). CFPB has received more than 170,000 complaints about Equifax. Out of these complaints, about 79% were resolved with an explanation from Equifax, while 17% were resolved by providing some sort of relief to the consumer. The rest of the complaints have yet to be resolved. If you are not satisfied with Equifax's response, you can leave feedback. The CFPB will not always take action against companies like Equifax, but it does provide complaint data to public, state and federal agencies, as well as to Congress.
On the other hand, if you want to file a complaint with Equifax about an inaccurate item on your credit report, you can file a dispute online through your Equifax account. Once you file your dispute, you will receive a 10-digit code that you can reference when checking the status of your dispute. Equifax will respond to your dispute within 30 days following your submission.
If you don't like Equifax's response to your dispute, you can add a statement to your credit report. This statement does not affect your credit score, but can help lenders understand the circumstances surrounding negative items on your credit report.

What is the Equifax Credit Score range?
Traditional credit scores calculated based on data from Equifax credit reports range from 300 to 850, with higher scores indicating stronger credit. But the Equifax Credit Score ranges from 280 to 850.
The Equifax Credit Score is a proprietary scoring model used to evaluate your Equifax credit report and predict credit risk. It is calculated differently from FICO Scores or VantageScores, but pulls from the same types of data. The four main areas used to calculate the score are payment history, amounts owed, length of credit history, and new credit. Like traditional credit scores, the Equifax Credit Score can also be broken into several different ranges.
Equifax Credit Score Ranges:
- Overall: 280-850
- Poor Credit: 280-559
- Fair Credit: 560-659
- Good Credit: 660-724
- Very Good Credit: 725-759
- Excellent Credit: 760-850
Although traditional credit scores typically range from 300 to 850, some older models and industry-specific scores may start at 280, 250, or even 0. The Equifax Credit Score is just one example. Generally, the score or rating you get from one type of credit score should be close to what you receive from others, however.
