Classic car coverage. Horrid experience. Worst insurance I've ever dealt with. My application for collector's insurance was stuck with the underwriters so long, I finally gave up. Twice I was asked to send in additional supporting documents despite having complied with all requested docs at the initial contact. Impossible to get an update by phone because it seems the right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing. Further, the company requires an affidavit stating the classic car will only be used for exhibition. Errands are NOT allowed. Occasional pleasure use (whatever that means) is allowed. Their lower premiums weren't worth the red tape and restrictive coverage, in my opinion.

Scammers, don’t walk away, run!!! They charge you for cars cancelled then request proof of when you called. What a real scam. I switched to Hagerty instead and very happy

I have had coverage for my classic car for the past 5 years with Grundy, through Philadelphia Insurance Companies, I had always thought that they were a very good company. One that cared about their customers and their customer's vehicles. Recently, after getting a dent on my classic car, my claim was denied. The denial letter stated that the appraiser confirmed that the damage was due to poor workmanship and/or a manufacturer's defect, and as such, they will not cover the loss as they consider it normal wear and tear. How can a dent possibly be considered normal wear and tear? How can a dent be considered either poor workmanship or a manufacturer's defect? I have six figures invested into a five-year professional restoration that was started 10 years ago and finished 5 years ago of this vehicle, I simply cannot believe that poor workmanship or a manufacturer's defect is to blame for the dent. Certainly, poor workmanship or a manufacturer's defect would have shown up prior to this, especially considering that the part that is dented was manufactured over 50 years ago.
When I try to contact the Claims Supervisor, Joseph Zampogna, I always get his voicemail. He claims he will return your call as soon as possible, however, I never receive a callback despite me leaving him numerous messages with my name, phone number, and claim number as his voicemail requests.
I will not give my business to any company that makes arbitrary, irrational claims decisions like this. If they won't cover a dent what do they provide coverage for?
Run, don't walk from this company for collector car insurance coverage!
Yes, Grundy offers classic car insurance. Classic car insurance from Grundy is a specialty type of coverage designed for vehicles like classics and antiques, typically at least 25 years old, that are not used for daily driving or commuting.
Because classic cars are on the road less than normal vehicles, classic car insurance is cheaper than typical policies, costing an average of $400 to $1,000 per year depending on the vehicle. Grundy states their policies can...
