If "0" stars were available, I would give them a zero rating. My dentist is shown as an in-network provider, but DentaQuest is providing the dentist $20 for a consultation with zero patient copay. The dentist can't turn on the lights for that! DentaQuest is providing $68 to my dentist for a cadaver tissue graft and $113 for a surgical extraction with a patient copay of $20, which is very attractive for the patient but a ridiculous rate for the dentist who pays over $300 for the cost of graft material. My dentist has called a dozen times to discuss the rates with no callback to date! No wonder I can't find any participating dentists. DentaQuest's actions are highly questionable, and any Medicare Advantage company that contracts with DentaQuest is complicit. Dental and Medicare providers contracting with DentaQuest are attracting applicants for their Medicare Advantage plans with deceptive tactics. Look at the other reviews. They are denying claims multiple times and refusing services. It's time for them to be reported to the Federal Government, investigated, and litigated.

My Medicare insurer switched from Delta Dental to DentaQuest on January 1, 2025. Suddenly everything went wrong. DentaQuest has very poor customer service. The agents are clearly sitting at home in front of a computer, reading from a script. They will simply repeat the same answer to you no matter how many times you rephrase your question with additional information. In my experience, some of the service representatives are actually hostile. Their documentation is cryptic and difficult to understand. They are extremely unhelpful when asked to coordinate benefits with another dental insurer. (I have two dental policies.) Dental service providers will groan audibly when you tell them you have coverage from DentaQuest. It is entirely possible you will eventually regret choosing DentaQuest coverage or having their coverage forced upon you, as I did. Avoid DentaQuest at all costs.

I have been trying to get them to pay claims under a plan for which I have paid. I cannot get hold of anyone to help resolve this; there is nothing but holding on the phone. They won't respond to emails either.

9-4-24 DentaQuest: DO NOT USE DENTAQUEST. I am a 76-year-old retired man who ran three different companies. This company is the most dishonest in the world. I documented all conversations with them over a 7-week period trying to get reimbursed for a $1,441 root canal bill. They are extremely dishonest and changed their story/comments each time I called them. They continually throw out ever-changing comments in an attempt to frustrate you, so you finally give up. Each time I called, they deny the previous comments they made. It is unbelievable how corrupt they are, and I am stunned they are still in business. Considering suing them, but I've decided to just absorb the $1,441 and not go through more time-consuming drama. Avoid them if possible.

Total Ripoff—nothing but a runaround for YEARS. None of the providers from their provider list (whether online or phone tool) accept their insurance. At best, their database is out-of-date, and customer service is nonexistent (it's impossible to reach anyone who represents the plan); at worst, they might be knowingly getting paid through Healthcare.gov and actually not have any providers for their customers.
I contacted the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and submitted a complaint: Maybe you should consider doing the same. Healthcare.gov isn't interested in the quality of insurance companies, so this is the only way I feel someone might be alerted to the potential fraud.

Needed an emergency extraction of a split tooth. The pain was excruciating! I was told a few days earlier that surgery couldn't be performed if there was a heavy infection with severe swelling.
I reduced the swelling using an oral rinse, brushing, disinfectant, cold fluids, and gum massage. I was in the chair ready to be sedated when the doctor said DentaQuest wouldn't pay for the tooth removal because it didn't meet their criteria for an emergency extraction. I asked why. He stated because the gum looks almost normal. I confirmed with him that if I had come in while the gum was massively swollen with bleeding discharge, he could have operated.
What in the world?
I had to wait several more days in excruciating pain, couldn't eat or sleep normally, missed other doctor appointments, lost several pounds, canceled my birthday events, lost work time, and had to take so much pain medication my ears were ringing for days.
DentaQuest should be forced out of business for endangering the lives of their clients.

DREADFUL company. Not one on the list of 10 providers they sent me is board certified. I also received incorrect and conflicting information regarding the percentage they would pay during numerous customer service phone calls. Wish I had checked the reviews before signing up for DentaQuest.

What a clown show. There are only two dentist offices that accept their coverage in my area, both are horrible options with terrible reviews. The only other places that accept their insurance are over an hour away and have equally bad reviews. Moreover, they all either don't accept adults, or appointments are six months out. So for three years, I've been waiting for someone to call back with a legitimate location of a provider. They do this intentionally so they get paid without having to pay out because they know you'll eventually give up or pay entirely out of pocket. This is a dressed up Ponzi scheme.

If there were an option to give ZERO STARS, I would have! I was mailed a flyer which promised that I could get a Provider Directory by mail, so I called to request one. FYI, a DIRECTORY is a BOOK. My health insurance Provider Directory is OVER 200 PAGES. Instead, DentaQuest sent 2 pages of providers in the worst locations, one in English and one Hispanic, so... one page, really. I tried again and received nothing. The second person I spoke with (a gentleman, but I didn't get his name) sounded well-educated and like the job was far beneath his pay grade and that he would have rather been anywhere else, where he could actually help people. He was the only person that genuinely tried to help with my request. Sadly, the same can't be said about those who "fulfill" requests. I called and was told they could help me find a suitable provider in 72 hours, 3 WEEKS AGO! Now, I'm writing this review in tremendous pain because one of the teeth I'm concerned with, became a raging toothache yesterday. I have a condition which causes complications with my dental health and I need to stay on top of both, but DentaQuest it seems, just doesn't care (my opinion). I've been trying since starting with DentaQuest in January to find a dentist, am still looking for one and meanwhile, my condition is getting worse. When I made the mistake of asking them a technical question, they had no clue what I was talking about, or what to do or say. They failed me every time. I lodged two grievances, but only received a poor excuse for a response that they were working on it, to one. Never again! And, I'm telling my friends to steer clear of them too. How is this company even in business? Seriously! Epic fail!

Hogwash BS Company? How can they even get away with this? Everything, both phone automated and online, is full of errors and loopholes that throw you off. You can't get ahold of anyone. The dentist's office they gave me isn't taking new patients. Nobody on their list is accepting this insurance! I reached someone three weeks ago to whom I explained all of my frustrations. She filed a case complaint and said someone would get back to me to tell me where to go. Argh! Total incompetence. I'm so frustrated.

My daughter is with Denta Quest. I have been trying to find her a dentist for over six months. They keep giving me the runaround, saying that someone will call me to find her a dentist and make her an appointment. I am continually calling with no results. I ask to talk to supervisors who tell me they are putting it in as high priority, but still, nothing happens. I then ask for a manager, and they always come up with reasons a manager can't talk to me. I have filed a complaint; still, nothing happens. I called again today, and they said they would put it as an emergency. I said no, that's been going on for six months. Nothing happens; can I speak to a manager? Today I get, "Sorry, they are in a meeting." My daughter now has a hole in her tooth and wakes up crying. A 14-year-old shouldn't have to go through this because of incompetence. She now will probably have to have it pulled. Hopefully, this complaint will help.
