Lemonade Insurance Company

I would not recommend anyone to do business with with this insurance company at all, My family, and I with two minor children have a renters insurance policy through them, turns out the place we have been renting is infested with blackmold, we hired a mold inspection company, had air samples,and a swab sample done, all came back that the mold is due to prior water damage, all of our belongings contaminated, the city deemed the property a dangerous building leaving my family, and I essentially homeless having to walkout with no more than the clothing on our backs, with our policy it is suppose to cover loss of use, added costs after normal expenses all in which have already been paid this month, turned in all supporting documents supporting our claim of having been left out to being homeless, and why, receipts from the hotel stays.added food expenses, and working on the added mileage from our dispacement, as said to be covered, we have ran out of money, having spent all what we had left after having to pay for the mold inspection, and labs after having been able to come up with a extra 700 to ensure my families safety after we have found how serious our situation is,and everything is a complete loss, we contacted them and we have been nothing but interrogated and treated as if we are criminals, quoting Sasha who has been handling our told us she didn't need to read the mold inspection reports,or labs we the ones that was living there that's what matters... I am not a expert everything they have asked we have answered the rest is in all the reports, we have answered their line of questions, and they hit us with another line of questions asking the same things over, in different ways, what more proof is needed? Documentation proof of loss of use like no other, here we are out of money uncovered when we are supposed to be homeless, and left to us all living on the road. Thankfully the trucking company i work for is allowing the ol lady, and both kiddos to ride with me or we would all literally be in a homeless shelter or on the streets right now, instead here we are having to hire an attorney to get this insurance company to cover what they should rightfully be covering per policy we have had, and still paying them for. Highly recommend anyone reading this switch to a different insurance company if you have a policy for anything through them at all, especially renters insurance, but if they will do. And treat us like they have been, then they will anybody, and I don't wish anyone elses family to have to experience none of which we have been in life, nor dealing with over a completely legitimate, and documented claims.

Lemonade is a total scam. They roll the dice with you for a few years then dump you! We never had a home insurance claim in 30 years! Give your $$$$ to a trusted company not Lemonade!

Lemonade could not send a simple email to my apartment complex’s insurance company. They told me it was taken care of on 1/31, but as of 4/10, they had still not sent the email. I’ve been paying two rental insurance policies for months because of this company’s inept employees. I’ve wasted over an hour of my time sending them dozens of emails. Absolutely horrible experience.

My car insurance started out at $30, September 2025 to now over $70 and it’s April 2026. I’ve had not one accident and yet my car insurance is increasing! Anyone interested, this is what entails when getting Lemonade Insurance.

They asked for an inspection report for our condo. Then proceeded to take over 7 days to decline because of extremely minor issues (like a HANDRAIL) that the seller was addressing prior to purchase. They REQUIRE your inspection report and I don’t know abt you but I have NEVER in buying five properties had one come back without something. Their customer service is AI, so useless. Communication is slow, passed around. Finally get a call thru and of course, non US based customer service. Ridiculous and absolutely not what a professionally run company should be like. They did not even ask if these things were being remediated before closing. Never again. For ANY type of insurance.

Yet another greedy company here in America. After my cat was hospitalized last month for constipation, I submitted a claim through my pet insurance to take care of the nearly 4,000 dollars in costs. They denied my claim once again (this is the second time this has happened), blaming my cat's pre-existing skin allergies for her hospitalization. So now, I have to get a statement from her vet to try and dispute the claim that her constipation was not caused by her skin allergies (because it wasn't), so I can get reimbursed. But at this point, I feel like every time I ever submit a claim, they're going to use her pre-existing conditions as an excuse not to cover her visits. To me, it feels like I'm donating my money to this company every year instead of paying for a service because they don't want to cover claims. I can't wait to cancel my policy and never work with Lemonade ever again.

This was my first time filing a claim with Lemonade Pet Insurance. My dog was treated for an ear infection, which was his first occurrence of this condition.

I followed all instructions and submitted the requested medical records to the email address provided by the claim representative. Later, I was informed by the claims department (Courtney) that the records were not received, and my claim was denied.

However, my veterinarian confirmed that the medical records were sent to Lemonade early in the month. There were two Vetco clinics involved, and both clinics sent the records. Despite this, my claim was closed with the explanation that documentation was still missing.

This appears to be a communication or record-handling issue rather than a failure on my part to submit documents. I paid for coverage, provided all requested information, and still had my claim denied.

Additionally, Lemonade does not offer phone support for claims. Communication is limited to email or the app, which made it difficult to resolve the issue in a timely manner.

Security Concerns, Terrible Claim Process

Stay away, they keep increasing prices without notifying you. Also, they change the mileage ceiling without letting you know. Good tech, but shady practices.

Scam company. Never paid me for my claim; they keep asking me to resubmit even though I have sent an itemized list multiple times, uploaded it online, and sent it via email. I also sent a police report. Go with a real insurance company; these people are scammers.

HORRIBLE - no phone number, no office - just an app. And they won't send you your driving data. File your complaints with the state insurance board.

Absolutely a Scam - Stay Away from Lemonade Pet Insurance

I can't stress this enough: Lemonade Pet Insurance is an absolute scam. I've filed three different claims with them, and every single time they've found some excuse not to pay. Their favorite tactic? Linking everything to a so-called "pre-existing condition."

In my case, my dog has a chicken allergy. He hasn't had chicken in over five years, and yet Lemonade still managed to connect his recent ear infection to that allergy.

This company is not here to help you or your pet - they're here to take your money and avoid paying at all costs. I've wasted so much money on premiums with nothing to show for it except endless frustration and disappointment.

Do yourself and your pet a favor: don't fall into the trap. Lemonade will happily collect your money, but when you actually need them, they will not be there for you.

I had some troubles with a double charge on my account. I called and left an email, and was responded to quickly by a lovely person named Rosemary. They took the time to explain what the issue was, took immediate action, and made my initial frustrations evaporate. My attempt to cancel my previous insurance policy hadn't gone through, and she offered and succeeded in canceling the old one for me. If she hadn't been so quick on the uptake, I could have accidentally paid double! Fantastic customer service. If this is any indication on how Lemonade operates, I'll be sticking with them for a while!

Do not use Lemonade Insurance; they are a scam, and they should have their insurance license revoked. First of all, they do not return calls or emails. They send emails to the wrong addresses, although they have the correct ones, claiming they have sent an email when I never received it. This misdirection with emails happened on several different occasions, leading me to believe they were acting in bad faith.

It has been a month since I filed a claim, and I have not received any response except for the generic automated email. I've called and emailed repeatedly to no avail. I have provided them with everything they needed to process my claim, and I have a screenshot of the adjuster confirming that I have turned in everything and that they don't need anything further from me. Yet, I still have not received any sort of correspondence.

The items that were stolen were essential for completing my schooling. I haven't been able to attend school for a month because I haven't had the necessary tools. There has been no sympathy, no help, no nothing at all. Stay away from this insurance company; they should be shut down. Please, do something.

Do not do business with Lemonade. This company dropped my insurance after a year for bogus reasons, then proceeded to bill my mortgage company anyway, causing my mortgage to increase significantly, and now will not issue a refund. Horrible experience.
