Horrible company. I needed to change my policy beneficiary, they sent me paperwork, I called and asked for help filling it out and they told me to get back to them in 2 weeks to verify it was received. That was April 6, 2026 Here it is 2 weeks later, April 21, 2026 and theres no one picking up phones; they just keep you on hold.

I don't think the reviews here are accurate. You need to have a good agent assisting you, and you must answer all the questions correctly on your application. If you lie, the claim won't get paid out. My father passed away, and although it was a small policy, it helped with his cremation. We received $20,000. He had some debt on his home, and we've been able to pay the mortgage with that money until his house sells. When you're honest, all life insurance policies have to pay out. They are regulated by the commissioner of insurance. It would be illegal for them not to.

I have been trying to deal with the Prosperity Life Group for the last 6 months to change the owner's name on an annuity from the previous owner to my name. I keep getting the runaround. I have submitted all the paperwork that they asked for, and they keep stating that nothing can get done since I am not the policy owner.
I suggest that anyone considering doing business with Prosperity not do it. Find another company.
If I could give them a zero rating, I would.
Buyer beware.

If the policy didn’t get paid out because there was false information on it then they return all premiums. If you are not the policy owner you have to go through probate. It is how every policy is designed and it doesn’t matter the company

They are untrustworthy. Stay away from this company! They just give you the runaround. They do not want to pay out any life insurance claims.

My dad passed away. He left me information about his insurance policy in case the day came when I'd need to help pay for funeral expenses. It did. They have been giving me the runaround. The claims department doesn't speak to you. They only have voicemail. No one will call you back. Now, they say since it's been less than two years since he started the policy, they want so many documents. They will do everything not to pay you. All reviews on this life insurance are based on what they say they offer you. When the time comes, they make all of their money by denying claims. It's deplorable and unethical to take advantage of grieving families in this way. Just another trauma.

That is called a contestability period on every policy on the earth. It’s two years. Read the policy. After two years they cannot contest it. It’s the law

My husband was solicited by Prosperity Life Group. They kept telling him how seamless the collection process is. What a falsehood! When my husband passed away, I submitted a claim. It was a $7000 policy. To my surprise, Prosperity Life Group requested five years of medical records from all of his doctors. I have no way of obtaining this information. He never told me the name of his doctor, let alone doctors. I called their customer service line and was forced to leave a message, which was never returned. When I called customer service again, the woman, giggling throughout, told me that Prosperity Life Group needs to know if my husband lied on any of his medical records. My husband was never informed of this; they said the average claim takes three weeks.

Three weeks after the contestability period. Your husband knew he was sick which is why he got life insurance and passed away directly after. No medical records are required after two years

Worst company ever. I've been fighting with them for a month, trying to get back money they took that they weren't supposed to. take I can't seem to get my money returned. I've been lied to by them several times, and they can't even get my address right. Find another life insurance company. It's scary to think what will happen after you die if they can't get it right while you're alive.

My father bought a life insurance policy from them years ago. It was a complex policy (more like an investment) that even a financially savvy person can make the wrong choice and cause surrender charges (buyer beware). When he passed away, I took the annuity option, they paid for many months. But recently, they skipped a payment and it has now taken me about seven calls and an email and it's still not resolved. Their 'customer service' department repeatedly scolds me for calling the wrong customer service number and providing them with the wrong policy number. This is despite me using the numbers on the check stub. They quickly admitted that they never sent the check. But it took repeated frustrating calls to finally get a replacement check. But when we tried to cash it, they had put a stop payment on it. As of now, they are researching it.

Horrible company. Complete rip off. They take peoples money letting them to believe that they are doing something good for the family left behind. But when that unfortunate day does come, this company will delay drag their feet and keep pushing a premium payout to get out of paying the claim. Making the grieving family jump through hoop after hoop. Even when they received complete medical records of my late mother they are still saying they don’t have enough information to process the claim. Again suggested I just take the premium payout. Horrible company, horrible customer service. Do Not Use this company if you truly are trying to help your family in an unfortunate situation. Cause this company will do everything they can to drag their feet and not payout
