I would strongly advise people to think twice before using MoneyLion’s investment platform.
I trusted MoneyLion with my money because I believed my funds would be safe and available when I needed them. Instead, I have been stuck dealing with an unresolved issue that has left me unable to access approximately $1,500 of my own money.
The issue started when I attempted to withdraw my funds and their system experienced a problem that prevented the withdrawal process from working correctly. Since then, I have contacted customer support repeatedly and have been given the same response: more waiting. The promised timeframes have passed, yet I still do not have a resolution. My case has been escalated to their Customer Advocacy Team, but I continue to experience delays and a lack of clear answers.
This experience has completely changed my opinion of MoneyLion. A company handling customers’ investments should provide reliability, transparency, and timely access to funds. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite.
I no longer feel confident trusting MoneyLion with my money, and I would not recommend their investment service to others.

First of all their app SUCKS! Their “customer” support is like talking to a bot and gets you absolutely nowhere! I am so disappointed in their services. I have been trying for weeks to get help to get them to fix issues with my address and have gotten nowhere. At this point I just want to completely close account!! I do not recommend at all!!

Just haven’t been able to speak to an actual person on MoneyLion. Tried chat support through the app. Tried calling and even tried emailing. It’s been about a week of trying and not one reply from a real person. They were extremely helpful in the past but this recent year it seems they’ve been heavily reliant on AI and it seems impossible to have a real person fix a problem for you.

Support is non-existent. I tried chat within the app. No one (I tried 3 times) can see my messages. So I decided to try from a web browser. Click on chat option and it tells you to download the app. SMH. So I found a phone number to call. I got the IVR and it gave me the run around. Kept asking me to verify myself and would never give me the option to speak to a live agent. I originally tried to contact them because I keep getting notifications on my phone that I need to repay an Instacash loan. I don't have anything left to pay and even if I wanted to there is no option to repay because I have paid back all of them. I've been getting these notifications for months.

Adding 1 star is generous. I’ve been a MoneyLion customer for a few years and the quality of services has consistently deteriorated. After reading many reviews, I believe this bank is scam and does more harm than good. List of issues I’m having: 1. Fraudulent Transactions. My wallet was stolen and Money Lion caught 7 transactions and stopped them all after paying 5. When I called to let them know, they still won’t give me money back even though they recognized 7 of the transactions were fraudulent and stopped them. They promised to reopen the dispute even after I provided a police report. The case wasn’t reopen for more than 60 days. This is a violation of Reg E. 2. App Security and Card Activatikn. I have physical card that is still not activated because the app isn’t working. Even after calling to activate my card, reps could not activate my card over the phone because their systems don’t allow them to and they need to figure out the issue with the app first.. it’s been 2 months. 3. Credit Builder Loan Fraud. Over the last 8 months I’ve recieved multiple inaccurate reporting of loans in collections, non payment, and balance due on loans that were paid off years ago. This is negatively reporting on my credit without any attention or ownership from MoneyLion.

I opened a Credit Builder Loan with MoneyLion (ML ENTERPRISE INC) and paid my loan in full on 02/23/2026. I have their own payoff confirmation email clearly showing a $0.00 balance and 'PAID' status. Even with that proof, MoneyLion is still reporting a $272 charge-off balance and verified to Equifax that this balance is 'correct.' That is false. When I called, a representative told me they would not fix my credit reporting for at least 45 days, even though they already know the account is paid. So, they are knowingly leaving a false charge-off on my reports and dragging down my credit. This is not a mistake; it's a choice. It's dishonest, it's harmful, and it shows they cannot be trusted with people who are trying to build their credit. I have filed a complaint with the CFPB and would never recommend MoneyLion to anyone.

Be wary. They make you think you've been approved for a loan to help out in an emergency, but ensure you understand what you're signing up for. They may, for example, approve you for a $1,000 loan at an interest rate better than a payday lender, similar to a credit card for mediocre credit. Then you only get access to a small part of the loan. They hold most of the money as security, plus the high interest rate. Then, when you pay off early using a debit card, making you think your money will be released, they hold the money for a long time. You also can't bypass the $19.99 monthly membership fee and may have buyer's remorse. They have a minimum term they hold you to before you can cancel. As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. In a time of crisis, you may not take the time to read all the small print. On the other hand, it may serve a purpose for some. Just make sure you understand what you're signing up for.

Opened a credit builder account and paid off $995 of the $1000, and now the app glitches, not letting me pay the final $5 to get access to the $855 owed to me. Spoke to customer service more than 10 times to no avail. I'm pretty sure this is a planned issue to prevent me from receiving the money owed. Stay away!

Best app out there by far, nobody comes even close. The only thing I don't like about the app is when I switched my bank account to Roar Money, it reduced my Instacash limit back to where it started. Other than that, the app is great, customer service is great, patient, and knowledgeable. There are no apps out there like this. I would recommend MoneyLion to everyone.

I was having an issue with the credit builder loan, and I got passed around to multiple different "customer service representatives" because no one was able to help me. I even had someone say they would call me back and never did. It was a pain in the neck to figure out, and no one was friendly or helpful. They have membership fees, interest on your money, and the wording is all written to confuse you into falling into their trap. Don't do it.

Earnin, MoneyLion, and Dave are among a handful of loan apps that do not check credit. Rather than performing a credit check, these loan apps require you to link your bank account to verify that you have recurring deposits and a positive balance, proving that you can repay the loan.
There are other ways to borrow money without lenders running a credit check as well. Most notably, no credit check personal loans offer larger loan amounts and longer repayment periods than loan apps, but no credit check loans can come with steep interest rates.
No, MoneyLion doesn't issue any credit cards at the moment. However, it does offer a credit builder program that lets you loan money and helps you work on your credit score, among other things.

MoneyLion can be a good financial company if you're looking for a free online checking account. They offer RoarMoney, a checking account insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), with no monthly fees, ATM fees, and no minimum balance.
However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. Since it's primarily an online financial institution, it may not be ideal for everyone. Additionally, it offers a low APY and has been sued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for imposing illegal...
Yes, a MoneyLion account is FDIC-insured through its banking partner Pathward up to $250,000 per customer, per account ownership category. This means that even if Pathward fails, you will eventually be able to recover an individual account's balance up to $250,000.
If you have a joint account, each co-owner of the account is considered a separately insured customer. As a result, you can collectively recover the account's balance up to $500,000 in the event...
Yes, MoneyLion offers early direct deposit through their RoarMoney account. By setting up direct deposit with your employer, payer, or benefits provider, you can receive your paycheck up to two days earlier than your scheduled payday.
Please note that the exact availability time may vary depending on your employer's payroll processing schedule and other factors.
For more specific information, you can check MoneyLion's website or contact their customer service.
There is no minimum credit score needed for a MoneyLion loan. That's because MoneyLion does not do a credit creck at all, which means even people with bad credit or no credit can qualify. However, there may be more worthwhile alternative lenders for you to consider.
MoneyLion typically posts direct deposits on the scheduled payday. This means that if your employer is set to deposit your paycheck on a specific day, you should expect it to appear in your MoneyLion account around that time.
However, in rare cases, a transmission error or transfer irregularity might delay the availability of your funds. If this happens, you'll usually receive them within five (5) business days after MoneyLion receives the deposit.
When you open a RoarMoney demand deposit account, you will receive your virtual debit card immediately within the MoneyLion app. This means you can begin shopping online, and you can connect your virtual card to Google Pay and Apple Pay immediately for tap to pay transactions.
