"My husband and I took out our first CD at the Greencastle branch. We were excited to get a 4% rate for the first term. When it came time to renew, we read our terms of agreement that stated, "Automatic Renewal Certificates will renew automatically on the stated maturity date of the term. Such renewal will be for a time period equal or similar to the original term and subject to these terms and conditions. Interest for that renewal term will be paid at the interest rate then in effect at this financial institution for similar accounts." Therefore, we looked at the current rate online and saw that it was similar to the one we had. So we let it automatically renew. We never received any letter, call, or email warning us that the rate was going to go down to 1% unless we went into the office. When we later called to talk with the bank manager concerning this, we found that the employee we had dealt with was the manager. She seemed to hide it.

This bank really struggles to apply mortgage payments appropriately. I don't think they have an accounting system that tracks your loan. I've had issues four or five times with my mortgage being reported late even though I'm paying. They can't seem to figure out what you owe, what is past due, or how to resolve it. When you reach out to customer service, they just tell you that you're not paid in full but don't help you resolve the issue. Their online banking is worthless, as it doesn't tell you what you owe; the statements are impossible to understand. It's so frustrating.

This bank is not a people's bank anymore. They have $38.00 overdraft fees, and you pay even if their teller makes a mistake. I had a merchant transaction come through within hours of two other ACH drafts, and the bank wouldn't reverse three overdraft fees totaling $108.00. I write this review to warn other people about this bank. They are operating on the premise that they need your overdraft fees to stay in business. Your money is not safe here—look elsewhere or purchase a safe. Thank you for listening.

Terrible customer service; the bounce protection fees are outrageous! They're always having issues with something when you call in to talk to someone. I tried to fix online banking, and no one could help.

It took me 4 phone calls and three visits to the branch to get them to pay my homeowners insurance. To say that their customer service is abominable is a huge understatement.

They gave me the run around for so long that the insurance company was about to cancel for non payment. This is after hand delivering the paperwork three times, plus scanning and emailing the documents.

The branch employees even photocopied the paperwork and then did nothing. Took me two calls to get someone at the service center to do anything, and then another two to actually make them take action, since their initial promise to follow up with me was also a lie.

Don't do business with this bank. They are incompetent at best and actively malicious at worst.

DO NOT TRUST BANKERS THAT FORCE their customers to listen to the Beatles "Elanor Rigby" song while on hold. They've received many complaints about it but have done nothing.

Do NOT EVER USE THEM!! They will steal your money and say oh but you messed up!!! Change order for the business I work for the girl wouldn’t even go to a desk with me she counted the money in the envelope I had, and took the deposit she just left me there thought that was off but when I get back to my store she calls and says that it was $100 short!!!! I’m like well I’ll check my change fund and if it’s short I’ll bring it for it wasn’t and 2nd call in 15 mins and Lori says she’s the head teller and I “had to bring it down” even though the girl counted it and even though it was there they are saying it was short so I must bring it down the other $100 which was there!!! How do you verify while your customer is there than you call after they leave and at well you owe more money it was short!!!! It doesn’t matter what you say we don’t care you have to pay it that you didn’t shorten we want that money!!! This is the worst moray crooked bank I’ve ever dealt with in my life!!! I will definitely do everything possible to stop this store from going bankrupt because if this bank and changing asap!!! I not my any business needs this type of theft or aggravation!!!

I do not recommend any small business use Orrstown Bank. Every year that they have held our mortgage for our office they have threatened to tack on an exorbitant fee for insufficient insurance coverage. We own an office condominium and the condominium association holds the master policy on the building and we have a policy on our individual unit. Every year it is a struggle getting them to accept that we have sufficient coverage between the two policies as they are terrible at returning emails or phone calls to acknowledge that they have received the policies from us.

This year they have decided that since the individual condo units are not listed separately on the master policy, that it is considered insufficient and they are charging us nearly $3,000 for "insufficient insurance." Even though they have already received payoff request from the bank that we are refinancing with. They received this information as well as our insurance information and still want to charge us. Well, this is the reason that I am moving our loan and I am thankful that I never moved my main business accounts to them due to their poor customer service and their eagerness to bilk small business owners out of money for ridiculous reasons.

This bank is horrible! If you have an issue and you call the bank, the first person you speak to will tell you one thing but the next person will tell you something totally opposite concerning the same issue. They have mad numerous mistakes to our many accounts. And it took multiple attempts to correct those errors. Many times the "correction" was another error. Getting a loan through this bank was a complete nightmare! Then trying to get the payoff amount so we could refinance was another nightmare! It never ends! Stay away from this bank unless you enjoy having to deal with constant issues and mistakes.

We are very pleased with our local bank. We've always had honest, open communication with the staff and have been rewarded with great customer service, in person and on the phone. They were helpful when we first opened our account with them and almost five years later have never disappointed us. We recently checked into getting a car loan from them and were pleased with the low rates available. Our checking is free with free checks, nothing fancy but no complaints either. The website is decent. It could be better but it hasn't failed us yet. Overall, we will stay with this bank for a long time to come!
