Earn up to 4.51% APY on savings, and 0.51% APY on checking when you meet requirements.
*The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is accurate as of 10/01/2025. The base and promotional interest rate and corresponding APY for Axos ONE® Checking is variable and is set at our discretion. The base and promotional interest rate and corresponding APY for Axos ONE® Savings is variable and is set at our discretion. Axos ONE® Savings is a tiered variable rate account. Axos ONE® Checking is a non-tiered variable rate account. Interest rates may change as often as daily without prior notice. Fees may reduce earnings.
Promotional terms and conditions are subject to change or removal without notice. Incentive may be taxable and reported on IRS Form 1099-MISC. Consult your tax advisor. After the accounts are opened, the amount of incentive earned will depend on meeting the additional requirements outlined below.
The Axos ONE® Checking account will earn a base rate of 0.00% APY. The Axos ONE® Savings account will earn a base rate of up to 1.00% APY.
Axos ONE® accounts are eligible to receive a promotional APY for each statement cycle where the promotional criteria are met during the Qualification Period. To receive the promotional APY on both Axos ONE® Checking and Axos ONE® Savings, the Axos ONE® Checking account must meet both of the requirements in either Option 1 or Option 2 below during the Qualification Period:
Option 1
1. Your Axos ONE® Checking account has received monthly qualifying direct deposits of at least $1,500 in total.
2. The average daily balance of your Axos ONE® Checking account is at least $1,500.
Option 2
1. Your Axos ONE® Checking account has received monthly qualifying deposits of at least $5,000 in total.
2. The average daily balance of your Axos ONE® Checking account is at least $5,000.
If both of the requirements in either Option 1 or Option 2 above are met during the Qualification Period:
- The Axos ONE® Checking account will earn a promotional rate of 0.51% APY for the statement cycle in which the requirements are met.
- The Axos ONE® Savings account will earn a promotional rate of up to 4.51% APY for the statement cycle in which the requirements are met.
The Qualification Period begins on the first business day of the month and runs through the 25th of the month. If the 25th of the month is followed by a non-business day, the average daily balance will be calculated including the following non-business day(s). Any qualifying deposits or qualifying direct deposits received after the 25th of the month will count toward the next Qualification Period. The Qualification Period for new accounts will begin on the day the account is approved. New accounts opened on or after the 25th of the month will be eligible to earn the promotional APY starting in the following month.
A direct deposit is an electronic deposit of your paycheck or government benefits, such as Social Security, Disability, etc. International paychecks, international government benefits, other deposits (i.e., online banking transfers, ATM and mobile check deposits, etc.), or person-to-person payments are not considered a direct deposit.
Qualifying deposits only include deposits from the following eligible sources: (i) ACH transfers from external accounts, (ii) inbound wire transfers from external accounts, (iii) check deposits. Qualifying deposits do not include: (i) transfers internal to the bank (i.e., transfers between an account holder’s Checking and/or Savings account), (ii) interest payments, (iii) promotional bonuses, (iv) credits, reversals, and refunds.
Both accounts must be in an open and active status on the 25th of the month and on the date the interest is paid to receive the promotional APY for that statement cycle. If either account closes during the Qualification Period, neither account will be eligible to earn the promotional APY for that statement cycle. Account transactions may take one or more business days from the transaction date to post to the account.

Any qualifying deposits received after the 25th of the month will count toward the next Qualification Period. The Qualification Period for new accounts will begin on the day the account is approved. New accounts opened on or after the 25th of the month will be eligible to earn the Cash Bonus starting in the following month. Account transactions may take one or more business days from the transaction date to post to the account. Additional Important Terms for the Axos Small Business Banking Cash Bonus Promotion A business is eligible to qualify in the first 7 statement cycles after eligible accounts are opened. An eligible business can qualify for the Cash Bonus for a maximum of 6 statement cycles. If an eligible business meets the qualifications during the Qualification Period within a Statement Cycle, a payment of $100 will be credited to their Basic Business Checking account. This $100 credit will be paid within the first 15 business days following the end of the Statement Cycle in which the eligible business qualified. An eligible business can earn up to $600 in cash bonuses throughout the entirety of this promotion. Only one promotional offer may apply to a business at any time. The Cash Bonus Promotion may not be combined with other promotional offers. Promotion is non-transferable and limited to one account per business. ---> Read the reviews for Axos and UFB. [UFB Direct is a division of Axos. There are also more reviews on depositaccounts.com.] My review is regarding the savings accounts. Their rates get your business but there's a good chance you'll regret it.
How can Wallet Hub's review be that positive? The consumer reviews are overwhelmingly awful, so my experience is not a one-off nor in the minority.
They are not interested in your experience - any statements that they are is lip service - and lip service is the only customer service you'll get. It's effectively impossible to communicate with this bank - there are many barriers and you don't get accurate, reliable answers anyway.
You *cannot* make a call to anyone at this bank in the US: all calls are routed to a phone bank in India. The only other option is to send/receive messages from within your account onlline - then you must keep checking back bc it takes days to weeks (or never) to receive a response.
They took 10 days from the day my funds arrived at their bank to credit my account - no interest for thiose 10 days! This is not insignificant when you figure the compounding, especially on large amounts.
If/when interest rates rise, they don't adjust the rate on your account. They come out with a new product offering the higher rate** that has a different name - "High Yield Savings" versus "Preferred Savings" for example, with no other differences besides for the interest rate - and you have to open and transfer your funds into that "new" product. They don't notify you about this - you have to happen to notice it. So once you're wise to this sleaze tactic, you then have another maintenance task.
[**Though a "Supervisor" in India told me that if rates decreased, your account rate would automatically adjust down. Trying to communicate took hours - really - and was needlessly aggravating.]
I have never had this experience at other banks. Ally and Schwab are the best, in my experience.

@AxosBank Well that is obviously insincere boilerplate, probably automatically generated, with no human involved. I tried hard to get help, so many times - there were many chances to keep my business. I haven't got around to completely closing my account - there is still a few thousand in there. Instead of automatic aplogies, why doesn't the bank *actually make some changes*?

Axos Bank (aka UFB Direct, Nationwide Bank, Bank of the Internet, and who knows how many other aliases it is currently employing) provides a level of customer service that is grossly inadequate. A simple address change is near-impossible for this bank to process, so don't expect Axos to be competent when it comes to anything more complex. They are disorganized and sloppy, and at least one standard Axos practice -- auto-renewing CD's at less than half their then advertised rate for the period -- is simply deceitful, and borderline fraudulent. Recommend NOT doing business with Axos, or any of its aliases.

I have been trying to close an account for about 8 months. My sister passed away from ovarian cancer in December 2018. I have been tasked with taking care of her affairs. She has a small amount of money in her account. The account charges a $5 service charge ever month. I am not concerned about the money in the account, I just want to close the account to avoid service charge bills in the future when the account runs out of money. I have spoken to mulitple Axos representatinves who have been absolutely no help. They have also told me that there is no one to talk to that can help me. I would suggest that you need a bank to include any customer service, you choose a different bank.

I had been called in regards to verifying information on my account that had been open since 03/2017 and had been told they'd close my account if I didn't respond back by 3:00 today, sure enough they sent me an e mail telling me they closed my account and sent me a refund check for the account balance. I wanted my statements and information they wanted to charge me $10 for that as I can't log into the account to view it online. They then tell me I can apply for a new account in 90 day's. It wouldn't have been very good if this were my principal ? Bank while traveling to pull something off like they did.

I’d give it no stars if possible. Been trying to close out an IRA for months. Every customer service rep gives different instructions -all of which require a notary to witness - and even the supervisors are useless. After all these forms have been submitted, they still won’t return our money. If you’re not already a customer of this bank, RUN. Their employees are not helpful, trained, or at all interested in helping customers.

I opened a one year CD with Nationwide Bank. About 6 months after opening Nationwide was taken over by Axos. My CD matured on Feb. 16, 2019 and on Feb. 18 I requested the CD be closed and the funds returned via ACH. Feb. 19 I received a message from Axos that they are unable to return funds via ACH but would return the money by check or I could pay for a wire transfer (I chose check). On Feb. 24 I checked my account and the CD still was not closed. I called and was told that the money would be returned after the 10 day grace period of the CD maturing. I requested to speak to a supervisor and after spending 40 minutes on hold was told none were available and my only option was to send a message on Axos' secure site as the people able to close the CD only monitor that and there is no way to reach them by phone. I sent another message but I am, and highly urge anyone having issues, reporting them to the Federal Reserve as this is unacceptable.

They are a horrible company. CEO got his corrupt, IMO, audacious payday so it will only go downhill from here. Glassdoor reviews are insanely bad. They don't care about their employees and I will not support a company like that. CEO seems to think everyone is a short seller or disgruntled employee. Maybe when your turnover is so high and everyone hates working for you, you have a problem. The Board is just a complicit in this crony capitalism scheme.

I opened a CD with Nationwide Bank. They decided to get out of banking and turned the banking over to Axos. One of my CDs matured on Feb.1, 2019. I wrote them on Jan 24 to request closing CD at maturity and sending the funds to the checking account that the money came from. I looked on Feb 2 (a Saturday), they still had my money. I called and was told it would be taken care as I requested. On Feb 4, I wrote again, they still have the money. On Feb 5, I called again. Was told the same story and a supervisor was taking care of this. On Feb 8, I rec'd email saying that I could have a check in the mail or I had to pay $35 for a wire transfer. I wrote back, just mail a check then. Here it is, Feb 11, 2019 and they still have my funds.
