The membership requirements at Founders Federal Credit Union include geographic location, employment or family ties. Here’s a clear breakdown of the requirements:
- Geographic Location: Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Chester, Chesterfield, Lancaster, Laurens, and Union counties; the towns of Wellford and Duncan; and select census tracts in Cherokee, Spartanburg, and York counties in South Carolina, as well as Mecklenburg County and select census tracts in Gaston County in North Carolina.
- Employment: Membership is available to employees or retirees of over 200 Select Employer Groups (SEGs), such as International Paper, AccessOne MedCard, All-Star Motors, among others.
- Family: Immediate family member (e.g., spouse, child, parent, sibling) of someone is already a Founders Federal Credit Union member.
Once you determine your eligibility based on the criteria above, you can apply for membership online. Applicants must provide personal information, including their name, address, Social Security number, and government-issued identification.
