You can only get pre-approved for an Ally Platinum Mastercard® if you receive an offer to apply. Ally Bank does not allow you to check online for pre-approval. Furthermore, receiving an offer is also the only way to apply for this card at the moment.
If you're looking for a credit card that you can apply for right now, and get pre-approved, consider the Petal® 2 Visa® Credit Card, instead. This card offers 1 - 1.5% cash back on purchases and has a $0 annual fee. The issuer also allows you to check online for pre-approval before submitting an application.
