Unfortunately, the Ally Platinum Mastercard® does not offer a rental car insurance benefit. The card does, however, have a $0 annual fee and can help you build credit.
In general, credit card rental car insurance provides coverage against damage and theft of a rental vehicle, usually up to the vehicle’s actual cash value, when the rental is paid for entirely with an eligible credit card. To get coverage, the cardholder must decline the rental agency’s insurance plan.
If you’re looking for a credit card with rental car insurance, consider the USAA® Secured Visa Platinum® Card, instead. This card for provides coverage for damage caused by theft or collision up to the actual cash value of most rented cars. There are plenty of other options to consider, as well.
