The best American Express business charge card is The Plum Card® from American Express because it offers a 1.5% discount on balances paid before the due date. It also gives you up to 60 days to pay with no interest, when you pay the minimum due by the payment due date. There is a $250 annual fee, but it can be worth it.
The Plum Card is currently the only business charge card offered by American Express. However, Amex offers several strong alternatives with valuable rewards and benefits.

The best American Express business hybrid card is the Business Gold Card with customizable rewards in corporate spending categories.
It has a hefty $375 annual fee, but it certainly makes up for it by offering:
- 100,000 points initial bonus for purchases of at least $15,000 in the first 3 months of account opening
- Customizable rewards
- 4 points/$1 in 2 categories you spend the most each month, for the first $150,000 in combined purchases/year
- 1 point/$1 spent on everything else
- 0% foreign transaction fee
Even though the Business Gold is a card that needs to be paid in full every month, it now offers Pay Over Time, which means that your eligible purchases can be paid over a longer period of time, with interest.
