No, the Platinum Card® Boingo benefit is no longer available. American Express discontinued the benefit for all of its cards as of January 1, 2020. The issuer previously offered all Platinum Card®holders a complimentary membership with the wireless provider Boingo.
Boingo membership provided unlimited Wi-Fi access at more than 1 million hotspots, worldwide. The benefit, valued at between $170 and $180 per year, had allowed users to connect to Wi-Fi on up to a total of four devices. It provided access only to land-based Wi-Fi services; in-flight Wi-Fi access was not included.
How to get a Boingo plan with the Platinum Card®:
The Platinum Card® cardholders who still need unlimited Wi-Fi access can purchase an Unlimited Plan directly from Boingo. The plan costs $14.99 per month.
