No, the Belk Credit Card does not do a hard pull for credit limit increases in most cases. The issuer will use a soft pull to evaluate a cardholder for a credit limit increase, whether the cardholder requests the increase or the issuer offers it automatically. This applies to Belk Store Card owners, too.
However, if the issuer offers you an automatic credit limit increase and you decline the offer and ask for a higher amount, they will request your permission to conduct a hard pull of your credit report.
Belk Credit Card: Hard or Soft Pull for Credit Limit Increases
- If you contact the issuer to request a credit limit increase: Soft Pull
- If the issuer reviews your account for an automatic credit limit increase: Soft Pull
- If you decline a credit limit increase offer and request a higher amount: Hard Pull
It’s important to determine when you are subject to a hard pull, as this type of credit inquiry could lead to a slight, short-term dip in your credit score. Soft pulls, on the other hand, do not affect your credit score.
