Yes, Chase Sapphire Preferred covers rental car insurance in Ireland. To get coverage, you will need to charge the full amount of the car rental booking to the card. You can also use points towards the cost of the rental car. The cardholder needs to be the primary driver on the rental car agreement and decline the rental company’s insurance.
The coverage provides reimbursement of up to the actual cash value of the vehicle for theft and collision damage for most rental cars in the U.S. and overseas, but excludes certain expensive and exotic vehicles. Plus, only rentals lasting less than 31 consecutive days are covered.
