Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® trip cancellation insurance reimburses you for certain nonrefundable travel expenses, up to $5,000 per trip, when you have to cancel a trip or cut it short due to illness, severe weather, or other covered situations.
Eligible expenses include airfare, hotels, and more. To be covered, all or part of the trip must be purchased with your Citi AAdvantage Executive Card.
How Citi AAdvantage Executive Card Trip Cancellation Insurance Works
- Covered situations: Citi AAdvantage Executive Card trip cancellation insurance covers the costs of cancelled travel due to accidental bodily injury, sickness or death, severe weather, acts of terrorism, jury duty or subpoenas that cannot be waived or postponed.
- What is reimbursed: This benefit reimburses Citi AAdvantage Executive Card cardholders for airfare and hotels.
- Who is covered: Citi AAdvantage Executive Card trip cancellation insurance covers expenses for the cardholder and their immediate family members.
- What is not covered: Your cancelled trip will not be covered if the illness or injury preventing travel is caused by a pre-existing condition, traveling against doctor's orders, changes in plans or financial circumstances, for example. - Eligibility: Cardholders must pay for all or part of the trip with the Citi AAdvantage Executive Card to be eligible. Trips booked with rewards from your Citi AAdvantage Executive Card are eligible for coverage.
- Coverage amounts: Cardholders can get reimbursed up to $5,000 per covered trip.
- Making a claim: You can file a trip cancellation insurance claim with the benefits administrator online or by phone at 1-866-506-5222. You must give notice within 60 days after cancelling your trip, and will need to submit any requested documents within 180 days.
