No, the Citi Diamond Preferred Card does not offer rental car insurance any longer. This benefit was stripped from the Citi Diamond Preferred a while back. The card does have other benefits, though. It provides purchase protection and zero fraud liability.
In general, credit card rental car insurance protects you against collision damage and theft when you rent a car using an eligible card. It’s a common credit card benefit. But some issuers, like Citi, have removed it from their credit cards.
Alternative Credit Card Options
If you’re set on finding a card with good rental car insurance, consider checking out the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, instead. There’s also one Citi card that still has it – the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi.
