You may qualify for the Platinum Card® if you have at least good credit and enough income to make monthly minimum payments. In addition, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to qualify for this card.
What you need to qualify for the Platinum Card®:
- Good credit or better
- Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number
- Proof of enough income to make the monthly minimum payment
- Physical U.S. address (no P.O. boxes)
- Be at least 18 years old
While these requirements are the most crucial for card approval, Amex may also weigh additional factors when reviewing your application. For instance, they may consider the level of existing debt, the quantity of open accounts, and recent hard inquiries on your credit report. In addition, approval is never guaranteed.
