Yes, the Wells Fargo Active Cash does offer cell phone insurance. The Wells Fargo Active Cash gives cardholders up to $600 per claim to repair or replace a damaged or stolen phone, if they charge their phone bill to the card every month.
The maximum coverage amount is $1,200 per year, and there is a $25 deductible. Keep in mind that the Wells Fargo Active Cash cell phone protection does not cover rented, borrowed or prepaid phones. It doesn't cover lost phones, either.
How to Use Wells Fargo Active Cash Cell Phone Protection
- Check if you have other applicable coverage. Wells Fargo only offers secondary cell phone insurance. You’ll have to exhaust any other coverage you might have before making a cell phone insurance claim with the Wells Fargo Active Cash.
- Notify the Benefit Administrator within 60 days of the incident by calling 1 (866) 804-4770. You can also open a claim online.
- Submit the required documents within 120 days of the incident. These documents include the completed signed claim form, your cell phone billing statement from the month before the damage showing payment with the eligible card, and any other requested documents.
- Wait up to 15 days for a decision. The Benefit Administrator will notify you as soon as your claim has been processed.
