@chad_25: Hello, Metromile still provides policies in California through local agents that they partner with, though you will not be able to purchase a policy online. You can contact a local agent from partners such as Goosehead Insurance and Meyer & Cook Insurance Agency to request a quote for Metromile. Another option you can try is SmartMiles by Nationwide. You won’t be able to get a policy online, but you can call 1-855-572-7883 to speak with an affiliated agent and sign up for SmartMiles. You can use the find-an-agent tool on their website here https://agency.nationwide.com/ca. On the other hand, Mile Auto is no longer selling new policies in California, unfortunately. Car insurance companies have been leaving California recently due to rising costs and their inability to quickly get state approvals for rate increases above the legislative limit. This has made California too expensive for many companies to operate in.
