Progressive definitely does not have good roadside assistance. We were stuck on the side of the road for 12 hours once got vandalized. Next day 14 hours and then eventually wig broke down again and it was 2 days nobody came we've got trying to get home I have been trying to talk to somebody about getting reimbursed for any of this the one time I had to get my own toll was 500 bucks they're not going to cover it says they're not going to do anything of progressive so I have to go through the roadside roadside doesn't have customer care so I'm pretty much left with all over $1,200 out of pocket that they aren't doing anything about except for bouncing me back and forth between roadside assistance and Progressive

Nope. Yesterday at 3:45pm I locked myself out of my truck by locking them in the truck bed with the truck running. Biggest mistake of the month! I called Progressive RSA and was told 45 min. My phone was on 38%, so I called my brother and let him know I was okay, they were coming, no big deal. I was in a residential neighborhood picking up auction items an hour away from home and the sun was still out. An hour and a half passed, I called again, they said 17 min. At this point my phone was at 12% and it was getting dark. 64 degrees out, my jacket is in the truck. I was getting nervous. 45 min passed and with phone at 2% my last call to Progressive says 45 more minutes. I am furious, cold and frustrated. She places me on hold to check with the provider, my phone dies. I'm now grateful I left it running, I'm at the front trying to find warmth. I go to 2 houses and ring doorbells desperate to get a charge on my phone, neither house responds, though they are home. Im feeling abandoned and lost at this point. Finally, a woman several houses away offers me a jacket at her phone to use. I couldn't even talk and I see it's 54 degrees. Progressive RSA says 15 min. I am now very angry and tell her how frustrated I am. She says they have no control over providers. I wait and they finally show up. It's 7:50pm. Never again.

No. I've used it 4 times. 3 out of 4 were horrible experiences. This last time I sat on the side of the road for 6 hours from 8:32 pm until now 2:40 am being taken home by the tow truck driver. It's never fault of tow company always being due to poor communication of staff at progressive road side assistance. Three of the incidents I call for help they NEVER dispatched the call for a tow. So I sitting for hours after receiving a text saying help is on the way(when In fact help has not been dispatched). This last time broke the camels back. Bc not only due to their lack of communication was I stuck for 6 hours on the side of the road, I had to pay an additional $40 to be towed. I had just paid my $300 monthly bill. Needless to say I'm insurance shopping

no not at all. I understand there is extenuating circumstances sometimes. But this has been a nightmare. 6:50 last night we broke down it is now 8:47 a.m. they have not towed it yet. after multiple companies bouncing around they now have one that has accepted the tow and in one hour they'll be able to tell me if they're able to do it. And I have to pay for half of it because of being more than 15 Miles. So all night long my van has been on the side of the road blocking the bike lane and a sidewalk with the keys in the glove box unlocked because they have been able to do it.

Just used Progressive for a lockout in San Francisco, CA. Left keys in the car. I will say that the request process is super easy. You request directly from their app. You put in the type of request (lockout, tow, battery, etc) plus your location and they send someone your way. Took about 45 minutes and the technician took less than 5 minutes to unlock the car door.
Location probably matters in your overall experience here but worked great for me.

Thanks for the comparison chart. However, three costs could beer more detailed as Progressive Roadside Assistance cost is $14 per month totaling$168 annually, unless I've misread your chart. If so please forgive me. I live in KY & have Progressive Roadside Assistance, which I agree, benefits are overall better than AAA. Unfortunately, based on a recent towing event, my mechanic is 28 miles away in OH so I had to pay $230 out-of-pocket for towing. After seeing this article, perhaps I don't need to pay the extra $168/annually for Progressive RSA. Think it's time to re-review if I need any of their benefits, i.e. locksmith or change a flat; is it worth $168 annually? As I'm retired & able to change a flat myself (or call my strong son), I have much better uses for this money!
