World of Hyatt elite status expires in February of the second calendar year after you earn it. For example, if you earn Discoverist, Explorist, or Globalist in June 2026, it will last through February 2028.
How to Keep World of Hyatt Status
The expiration extends each time you requalify by meeting the required number of nights or base points in the calendar year after you earn the status. So, if you requalify at any point in 2027, your new expiration will be February 2029.
How to Requalify for Hyatt Status
To requalify for elite status, you need to earn the required number of base points or complete enough qualifying nights for your preferred status level. You usually earn 5 base points per $1 spent, depending on the brand. Bonus points from promotions, elite status, or co-branded card spending don't count toward elite status qualification. But both paid and award nights count as qualifying nights.
Ways to Maximize Your Hyatt Elite Status
Earn Status with the Hyatt Credit Card
You get automatic Discoverist status in World of Hyatt as long as your card is open and in good standing. The World of Hyatt Credit Card from Chase also gives you five qualifying nights each year, plus two more for every $5,000 you spend.
Take Advantage of Hyatt Milestone Rewards
World of Hyatt's Milestone Rewards start after 20 qualifying nights each year. You can earn free night certificates (at 30 and 60 nights), suite upgrade awards (at 50 and 60 nights), and Guest of Honor awards, which let you share your Globalist perks with family or friends for stays of up to seven nights.
Stack Promotions to Earn Faster
Hyatt often runs promotions that help you earn status quicker. You can get bonus qualifying nights for eligible stays at certain brands or locations.
Earn Nights for Meetings and Events
For every $5,000 spent on eligible meetings and events (billed to a Group Master account), you'll earn 2 Tier Qualifying Night credits - up to 60 per calendar year.
Lifetime Globalist Status
To earn Lifetime Globalist status, you must accrue 1,000,000 Lifetime Base Points. You earn Lifetime Base Points on your room rate and charges billed to your room, such as on-property dining, spa services, and other eligible charges.
