Bank of America Checking Accounts Reviews
What's Your Rating?
BoA deactivated my card. I finally got my card a few days later. The second time they thought it was fraud and it was my rent going through and because BOA deactivated my card then send me a notice about it. I put I recognized the amount (my rent). Because they BoA deactivated the card my landlord ran my card 6 times and finally got one thru. BoA let all 6 debits went through that just created a mess. Final note. I will be changing banks.
So I went to their branch in person. The lady at the reception asked me what I want, and I explained my situation. Then she said "you should use online banking for customer service", like right after I explained that I'm locked because my old card was blocked. Then she said "I guess that sucks. Call us online then. We don't do customer support here" and literally just walked away. I'm not exaggerating she literally turned and walked away. I tried to catch up to her and she just turns around and walk away further. And she started smiling when she walks away, like the kind of smile you make when you dodge all your responsibilities.
I've never had customer service this bad in my life

Is Bank of America FDIC insured?
Yes, a Bank of America account is FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per customer, per account ownership category. This means that even if Bank of America fails, you will eventually be able to recover an individual account's balance up to $250,000.
If you have a joint account, each co-owner of the account is considered a separately insured customer. As a result, you can collectively recover the account's balance up to $500,000 in the event of a bank failure, assuming you have no other shared accounts.
However, not all financial products offered by Bank of America are FDIC-insured. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation only insures deposit accounts. They do not insure investment products, which can lose value.
