What's Your Rating?
- From being hung up on by childish agents
- To being put on hold, just in hopes that you hang up by wasting your time
- To being told you're speaking with a 'manager', but its really just another person who's playing defense and not trying to help you at all
This bank used to bring warmth to my heart knowing I was with a good company, but now it just brings a dark sadness because of how horrible they treat people.
I will be looking elsewhere to put my money
Too bad I can't give zero — or negative — stars!
These monkeys cashed a Canadian check from a law firm trust account. Bulletproof. They even gave me full and immediate access to the funds, which was appropriate. I should have cashed out and turned my back. But no, I assumed this was a professional business. Duh!
I started using my other bank funds on critical projects, holding this in reserve. Yikes.
I decided to link my accounts so I could easily pass money back and forth. I figured these guys had been fully awake and sentient for the past two decades. They probably used Plaid to link accounts, which was 100% secure and took a few minutes. Not for US Bank, which relies on the Stone Age technique of adding tiny deposits to external banks over a three-day period. It's up to us to log in, write down the amounts, and verify them in the US Bank account. Really efficient, and not aggravating at all! Why did we ever give up the pony express after all?
Four days after accepting the $14k deposit, they revoked the funds and added a tiny remark that they would be on hold for ten days. No phone call. No email. Just all of my money gone.
Two days later, US Bank returned the original check to my home address ("look for it in 7-10 business days"). They said the check had failed inspection despite it being backed by a trust account.
Then they charged me $36 for being overdrawn, among my many other offenses.
The capper: they literally advised me to "recash it and see what happens."

Is U.S. Bank FDIC insured?
Yes, a U.S. Bank account is FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per customer, per account ownership category. This means that even if U.S. Bank fails, you will eventually be able to recover an individual account's balance up to $250,000.
If you have a joint account, each co-owner of the account is considered a separately insured customer. As a result, you can collectively recover the account's balance up to $500,000 in the event of a bank failure, assuming you have no other shared accounts.
However, not all financial products offered by U.S. Bank are FDIC-insured. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation only insures deposit accounts. They do not insure investment products, which can lose value.
