Great card to have. Low APR, with cash back rewards. This card can be used almost anywhere, even though I haven't found a place yet that did except it! Lol. Always there when I need it.

Ok card. Interest rate high, some perks worth it? Still evaluating card and my usage. For emergency and supplemental back-up use.

American Express has been an excellent addition to my credit card collection. This company was the first major company to approve me for a card after rebuilding my credit. Additionally, after only a couple of months they were willing to double my credit line, but I did have to ask. And then every 6 months you can ask for an increase.

Always on time with high CL. Accessed account for large purchase, within CL and subsequently had CL reduced. Damaged my credit score significantly and no help from Customer Service at all.

Good card I would like a higher credit limit I pay on time and in full before the due date I would like a lower Apr rate and more rewards

I have American Express clear since the beginning of 2013 and I am very happy with it. When I spend $2,500 I get $25 gift card. Clear does not have late fees, no balance transfer fees, no cash advance fees. Because I was a new customer I did not pay yearly card fee. I believe after 1 year later of service, they start charging you yearly fee. APR is very high with a rate of 26% but for me everything this card offers works very well. Unless they come up with a high amount of yearly card fee, I am willing to keep it and use it!

I have had this card for several years and have no complaints. It is a great card with a good interest rate that also looks cool! I would definitely recommend this card to my friends. American Express has always been very helpful if I needed anything, and their online module is very useful. The rewards program is not the best, but I have received several gift cards from them over the years. $25 is not a lot, but it is certainly a good surprise to find in the mailbox. This card has been very useful to me, I am glad that I got it.

I applied for the American Express Clear card back in 2004. I was immediately approved and had a super low interest rate. My initial credit limit was $12,000. It was raised to $16,000. I have always paid my bill on time, and I have always paid more than the minimum amount due. When the economy started to go down the drain in the latter half of 2008, I got a letter stating that they had cut my credit limit to $7000. Every single time I made a payment, they cut my limit again. For example, if I paid $500, they sent another letter stating my limit had been cut by $500. It was unbelievable since I had NEVER been late on a payment. My credit score at the time of all the credit limit cuts was 762. On top of that, their rewards program isn't anything to get excited about. I don't use the card, although I still have it. I never got rid of it simply because I have a very low interest rate on it and can use it in case of emergency. That said, I don't use it, and won't use it unless absolutely necessary. My husband and I paid off all our credit cards last year and I don't want to get in debt again.

We are long-time card holders of the American Express Clear card. We started at a very high credit limit and used the card to do some re-modeling on our new home. Frm the time we recieved the card our credit did nothing but improve but each time we made a large payment on our American Express Clear card, they lowered our credit limit quite a bit, usually by the amount that we paid. Upon calling to inquire as to why this had happened, we were told that if we made a second $5000 payment, they would raise our limit by $300. This card is a joke. A complete joke. I have never been so unhappy or unsatisfied with a credit card company before. We also have cards with several other large companies and have chosen to only use their cards and to stay away from American Express at all costs. We have never missed a payment or been late on anything including American Express and we now make a lot more money than we did at the time we received the card. It amkes absolutly no sense but once that card is paid off, it's being cut up. American Express is done collecting money form us. We will stick with Capitol One who has a better customer service and much better incentives.
