Worst customer service ever. Every representative that I have spoken with is rude and terse. In addition, they have heavy accents, and I can't understand what they are saying. Stay away from this one. If allowed, I would give a zero rating.

Synchrony Bank is the worst; they will lower your credit limit, and this will turn your credit upside down. Your credit score will be lowered.

Approved for a $5000 credit line in March 2022, with initial 55% credit usage. After 6 months of making all payments on time, this was reduced to 52% credit usage six months later. Without a valid reason, the credit line was reduced to $2610, artificially increasing credit usage to 99%. By the 27-month anniversary, with all on-time payments, I had reduced usage from 99% to 57%, but they again reduced the credit line to $1550, misrepresenting and increasing usage to 97%. Just this month, with a $1400 balance, they closed the account. My experience with multiple Synchrony Bank retail accounts is that this is a common practice of reducing credit lines and artificially increasing credit usage without making purchases, subsequently reducing your credit score.

In my case, it has reduced my credit score by approximately 80 points. The RMTG card started the process, and Synchrony exacerbated the score reduction by cutting the credit line, reducing my credit score by 27 points, effectively using this as a reason for closing accounts and reducing credit limits. As a result, from the 7 accounts with Synchrony Bank—keep in mind all accounts have an excellent payment history—3 accounts have been closed by Synchrony, and one account I closed because they reduced the credit limit from $1000 to $200 with a $176 balance, which wasn't worth the headache. Of the remaining 3 accounts, 2 have had credit line reductions. One account has not been affected, which is the oldest, at about 6 years, without any credit line increase during that time, while 4 of the accounts had more than doubled their credit lines until these past few months.

This is a common Synchrony Bank practice. My advice is to stay far, far away from Synchrony Bank credit and retail cards, as it is not worth the misery. Since reducing my exposure to Synchrony Bank, my credit score has gone up by 29 points and is rising. Nothing on my credit report has changed since this last nightmare in May when the RMTG card reduction occurred, and in 2024 the only negative issue on my credit report has been Synchrony Bank. I have contacted each one of the Synchrony Bank partners and explained that I will seek other options for retail purchases and will limit my credit card usage to a minimum as long as they are partnered with Synchrony Bank. Do your research and stay away.

The time they say is interest-free is a complete scam. They claim it is interest-free for a year or more, but after six months they charge you for the months you weren't paying.

After opening an account in March 2019 with over $1500 approved available balance, I made a purchase and paid off the balance before 12 months. In 2022, I made another purchase. After 6 months of excellent payment history, they lowered my available credit from $1500 to the unpaid balance at the moment, which was $325. After paying off that second purchase before 12 months, they closed my account without reason or notification 5 months later in March 2024. The closed account impacted my credit score and credit history negatively. I would not recommend this card, will never return to make a purchase there, and definitely would not recommend it to friends or family.

This card is great to buy all you need like living room sets, dinning room sets, bedrooms sets and all mayor appliances you need to make your Home confortable at no interest rate for 24 months or more

Do not get this card synchrony bank will drop your limit without notice trash company. Paid every payment on time was never late and under 30% utilization still dropped my limit.

Qualified for Rooms To Go credit card from Synchrony bank 9 months ago. I planned on using it for a holiday gift 10/27/2023.
I picked out a very nice living room set and tried to pay for it with my Rooms To Go credit card. It kept declining. As it turned out Synchrony bank closed my account a few weeks prior.
I realize that Synchrony bank was within their rights to close my account (with $0 balance) but I question their integrity and business etiquette as Synchrony bank did not notify me.
How embarrassing would that had been for me if I had actually went in to a Rooms To Go store to make the purchase instead of initiating it online?
If you do decide to utilize a RTG credit card tread lightly as Synchrony bank might give you the same treatment as they gave me. Thanks!
