Here's a big clue for why First Bank is so bad: they are actually based in Nigeria! What does that tell you? It tells me that they are indeed up to their necks in corruption! I was cheated out of nearly 700 dollars this morning. First Bank acquired my old bank, and they are disgusting!

I made a bill payment from my account to a business. A week later, a check appeared in my mailbox addressed to that business with my address, and it stated it was coming from an account under my daughter's name. So, I went to close my account on a Wednesday. I withdrew the remaining cash from the account minus the two pending transactions. Three days later, the account showed an available balance equal to the amount I withdrew. It also showed the same amount as withdrawn. The two transactions went from pending to disappearing, then posted, now pending again. I wouldn't trust them with your money.

First Bank helped hackers steal money from my business account. They authorized EFTs without my permission and now are claiming that the problem is my responsibility and they are not liable or responsible in any way for the theft. I strongly recommend that if you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy banking institution that you keep looking. If you want to keep your money safe, avoid First Bank. They are unethical and part of the problem rather than the solution.

First Bank of Colorado will charge you fee after fee. Furthermore, I had a substantial amount of money in this bank, and I had a valid dispute with indisputable proof that I had not made the transaction. A bank officer assured me that the dispute would be settled in my favor, but to my dismay, First Bank ruled in favor of the party that scammed me. I would not recommend First Bank.

Either they do not have enough staff to address customers calling about issues or concerns, or their service is so bad that a large number of customers are calling all the time. Every time I call about issues, there is a minimum of a 15-minute wait, then if you get transferred to another area, another 15-minute wait. Also, twice in three months my card had been compromised. I'm not sure how much of that is on them or just how things are nowadays. I've had accounts for years, then switched for one reason or another. When they opened a branch three blocks away from me, I reopened my account only to have them close that branch and move less than a year later.
I understand if the branch is not generating enough business to justify its continued existence; however, I wanted a bank that I could easily access and not have to drive to every time I wanted to do in-person banking. I'm probably going to move my account to another local bank.

I gave them two chances, one with my personal affairs and a second one with my business, and regretted it every single time. Unprofessional, unhelpful, rude—every time I went to any of the branches or called customer service, it was a horrible experience. None of them are properly trained, and the managers are always on a power trip and don’t care about you as a customer.

Horrible service. Try calling them; they are the worst bank I've ever dealt with. The service is so bad, and I've had to close and reopen an account twice due to someone hacking my bank account. Security is horrible. I'm closing this bank account and moving on. Don't join this bank; you've been warned. Just look at the reviews.

Verified Customer
Long lines, poor customer service. They're all about the money and not the customers that keep them in business. Raising rates at every opportunity and not applying principal payments for up to 4 days, just trying to squeeze a few more dollars after already gouging the consumer and treating them like third class.

I went here today to cash a check. (A black woman with braided hair) I don't have an account here, but the check I presented has an account with them. Not a personal check!!! I stood at the teller for 15 minutes after giving the check and ID. A call was made to verify the check; the teller asked for the person's first and last name. Two other customers came in, were served, and out the door. I then waited 8 more minutes for the teller to go into the office to get the check approved. A third customer or person came in as I finally got my money. As I got in my car to pull off, he was looking at me as if I had done something wrong. I am 48 years old, and in my entire life, I've never felt such racist behavior from a bank! I hope and pray that no one of color has to experience this ever again. I would not open any account or recommend this bank/branch. 4201 Congress St, suite 100, Charlotte, NC.

$200 bonus not deposited after opening a checking account. Lies, lies, lies. Waited four months for it. They made an excuse for not giving me the $200 bonus. Don't do banking here.

It was my son's birthday and he went to make a deposit inside First Bank, 5815 Constitution Ave in Colorado Springs, CO. My son is African American and he was immediately told by their security officer to remove his hat (it was a baseball hat) and to look into the camera! Everyone was looking at him! My son asked what was going on and he never got an answer, but was told again by the security officer to remove his hat and to look into the camera! My said, "I don't know what's going on." My son said he then saw the security officer reach for something, but my son said he didn't want to look and didn't look to see what the security officer reached for or what his hand was resting on or holding. So my son then removed his hat and looked into the camera and only then was he allowed to make his deposit! My son asked the teller what was going on and still wasn't told what was going on. My son made his deposit and on the way out the same security officer told my son to have a nice day.....really after being humiliated and treated like a criminal?? Are all customers treated this poorly and humiliated when coming inside this bank?? I think not or they wouldn't have any customers. This experience totally ruined my son's mood to enjoy his birthday. What the heck is going on at this bank???

This is how FirstBank treats the disabked= I went in and set up a direct deposit w them with the understanding that there would be a 300$ sign on bonus.I dipped past their limit and was in arrears for a bit. There were no notifications,no courtesy call,no email.no text.nothing. They just waited to get the next direct deposit, took their fee out and canceled my account, didn't even tell me they were canceling my account,so now i have to scramble to get another direct deposit set up in time in the middle of December. Keep in mind I am disabled and they gave me absolutely no warning about any of this. The teller who signed me up rushed me through to get the account in their numbers and didn't explain any of any of this to me,at all. When I called and talked to the management and I explained my situation,he said, basically= yeah, that's the way it goes here.bye. So that is the type of business you ll be dealing with and the type of help you can expect to recieve from them. It's Dec,and they took 1/3 of my disability check, closed my account and basically told my federally recognized disabled self to get gone.

They are rude and speak to you like a child. They closed my accounts for fraud but there never was fraud - I was buying a used car for my son. In retaliation, they returned my IRS refund instead of issuing a check, and have blocked me in the ACH system. I have complaints filed and wanted to let people know to know to choose a bank that is professional.
