They are one of the largest privately owned banks in the United States and this combination of size and private ownership provides their customers with a special brand of banking. Wish I could go lower than one star as I don't feel that this bank deserves even that. where to start, how about the MidFirst app which is impossible to navigate and is just overall terrible the Face ID feature doesn't work along with many other things. next, when you switch to midfirst you are going to have to fill up your gas tank before you leave your house as there is only one MidFirst within a 100 mile radius. everything about this bank is slow their app and depositing cash into an ATM with other banks is instant with MidFirst it's 5 business. Overall this bank is horrible and can't wait to switch back to BofA. if you are considering using this bank please take this review as a caution and save yourself a lot of time as you will be on the phone with customer service at least once a month.

They will find anyway possible to put a hold on your account. I deposited a check that was under $100 and they wouldn’t let the fund be available and they wouldn’t let me cash it with them. They also didn’t make my funds available for days after doing a CASH mobile deposit.

Whatever you do, if you’re a millennial, and use a cell phone to manage your banking primarily. DONT open a MidFirst account. Their mobile app is subpar, even after several attempts to fix the kinks via updates and app releases. MidFirst app is slow, FaceID does NOT work, there is not a way to reset psw without CALLING cust service, and it doesn’t meet the criteria my other 6 bank accounts and technology do. Called customer service and they tried to tell me my technology was not up-to-date, mind you I have an iPhone 12pro. Then they made another excuse and said that they “Cannot guarantee FaceID will function on all devices.” Very broad statement to cover their behinds.

I was told I cannot open a secured credit card without first being an existing member for 6 months. No explanation as to the reasoning. I want to rebuild my credit, not give you use of my money at a fraction of what you will charge me over a 6 month period of time. Ridiculous.

My banking experience with MidFirst has been incredibly disappointing. My company is a small business and we work with a vendor in Bulgaria, which requires payment my international wire transfer. Accordingly I requested an international wire transfer to my vendor for $1025 over a month ago. My vendor claims to have never received it and has asked for a SWIFT document or some type of legal document showing that the money was sent and received.
MidFirst had no problem taking the $1025 from my account, but after weekly requests for verification that it was actually sent and received their manager and Vice President, Jay Kandybowicz, has refused to provide that documentation. With week I will initiate whatever legal remedies that I may have, but it is heartbreaking that this bank refuses to provide this simple document. As a result of their actions I may loose my most important vendor and it is obvious that they don't even care.

This is hands down the worst bank I’ve ever had the displeasure of going through. Customer support isn’t helpful, they transfer you to the wrong lines and won’t tell you who to contact, their banking service online is always problematic, the cashless card service they always promote has never worked for me, and the final straw was the $34 overdraft fee I got for going $1.80 negative from a subscription service for 16 hours before I added money to my account. If you are in Arizona I promise you that any other banking service is better to go through than this poor excuse of a bank!

Worst banking experience of my life. I would never suggest this bank to anyone. They are little con artist. I closed my bank account and the teller told me to make sure that I change all my automatic bill payments because if I didn't they would automatically reopen my account and create a charge. So, I did this and then I received a check that got sent to this bank and they wouldn't reopen the account. I do not understand how a bank could reopen it because of a charge that they could just decline, but they won't reopen it for a check coming in. Also, this bank always gave me headaches to get my own money out of the account. Worst Experience ever!!
Do Not Use This Bank Ever!!!

I have been a Midfirst customer for more than 15 years. This has happened occasionally throughout those years but it seems to be happening constantly now. I will cover a check by transferring money between one of the four accounts we have at the bank, the next morning when I check my balance I find that I am overdrawn and have been charged a total of $64. The overdraft fee caused the overdraft - and then I was charged another $32 because the account was overdrawn. It is criminal what banks get away with, but you would think a long time customer would be treated more fairly Banks are a necessary evil, but I am retired living on Social Security and I simply cannot afford these outrageous charges. If it were a case where someone was just having withdrawals knowing they were overdrawing the account, that would be one thing, but I am covering any overdraft (and always have been) at the same time they are scurrying like rats to take my money. If they are supposed to refund something then forget it - you wait 5 to 7 banking days - they aren't quite so fast when they owe you money.

I got a call from the branch manager asking me to come in because my SSN was incorrect on one of the accounts. They realized this because two accounts had two different SSNs. I came in and re-signed account forms. A week later, I received another call that my name was misspelled on my son’s savings account. I was told if I didn’t come back in to re-complete paperwork that they would close my son’s college savings account. Thanks for the heads up about your shoddy keyboard entry and proofreading skills; I’m no longer confident about your financial skills.

I use to love Midfirst bank. Where has all the good customer service gone with this bank? They hire disrepectful arrogant kids now. What happened to saying yes mam and no sir? I actually had Midfirst bankers mock me, make fun of me because i did not know what something meant, AND instead of an apology, told me 'i did not wait that long', when i asked her about my long wait in my hot car. I do NOT suggest Anyone bank here! Money orders are $4 for God's sakes!
