I had issues with my RBC business accounts since January 25. I moved all my business activities from TD to RBC recently. I have two mortgages with RBC.
I have several business accounts now that are not linked, and it seems to be impossible to link and consolidate them. This is affecting my access to accounts and my daily business activities severely. Calling RBC's general inquiry line has not helped. Filing a complaint through my profile remained unresolved. Also, offering me RBC express service at extra costs for issues that were not initiated from my side is not a resolution I was interested in. One of my accounts was opened in Eastern Canada by mistake, while I never lived there, and one was in Western Canada, and it is impossible to connect them. Nobody is helpful there. As unhappy as I was with TD for mortgage approvals, the links between personal and business and transferring money between accounts could not have been easier with them.
After six months of communication and trying to resolve the issue, I have decided to save myself from a heart attack and move to a different bank and never look back at RBC.

Absolutely horrible bank. The number of hoops they expect you to go through to issue a refund of a credit balance on a credit card to an estate is ridiculous. Multiple meetings. Incurred cost for a notarized will because a copy isn't good enough. No one else has required this. The check is made out to the estate. What is the need for this level of red tape for $1,000? Not to mention a new credit card wasn't issued when the old one expired, so there was no opportunity to send the credit. Avoid this bank at all costs.

Branch manager suggested I transfer a GIC as a GIC to Direct Investing, which i knew I wanted to cashredeem then transfer as cash, to Direct Investing. So I did as he suggested, incorrectly. Direct Investing cannot redeem a Mutual GIC.So I requested a transfer back. 2 weeks later I called, which took an entire afternoon. Including multiple phone transfers with people who had no clue what they were doing. This COMPLETELY BROKE RBC.. It's been 3 months and with multiple in-person appointments, and my funds are still sitting in Direct Investing. With the stock I planned to put these funds into they've cost me 11% in 2 months. RBC IS FIRED!

The card has a decent interest rate. My issue is with customer service and the app. I work out of town in remote areas, and if the Wi-Fi or cell service is poor and you try to log in using the app and it doesn't work, it locks your card. You must go to the branch, which is challenging if there isn't one nearby and they close before you're even done with work. I called once to get my balance, and the lady was so rude. Then, when I asked about her attitude, she hung up on me. And again, the card is locked and only the branch can unlock it in person. I have Capital One, BMO, MBNA, and a few other cards. This one I am canceling. It may be hit or miss, but just a heads up, they will treat you poorly. I dislike this card. It's gone.

Horrible service. They don't listen or understand what you say, nor do they care. I left today because after experiencing fraud on my credit card, I lost thousands. They refunded about one third of my losses. I called them back after a few weeks, thinking I would get more. Nope. I closed it all... goodbye after almost 20 years.

Happy I just closed my credit card account. I wish I'd done it sooner due to terrible service, ethics, and equity. Feel free to adapt any of the following:
1. I am leaving RBC due to their involvement with Canadian mining operations abroad and on Indigenous land. 2. I am leaving RBC due to their poor customer service. 3. I am leaving RBC because of ongoing non-binary name issues that have been preventing me from accessing federal programs like the FHSA. 4. I am leaving RBC due to consistently unacceptable customer communications. 5. I am leaving RBC because of the irritating phone bots that result in long holds, hang up on customers, or lead to circular conversations. 6. I am leaving RBC because of the poor website UX/design and the lack of access to messages. 7. I am leaving RBC because they renewed my credit cards without my request and placed multiple stops on my account while I was abroad. 8. I am leaving as I intend to pursue all possible recourse through ombuds services and the OBSI. 9. I am leaving RBC because even when I seek support from the branch, the instructions are changed, and my cards and sensitive information are sent to places I specifically requested they not go. 10. RBC represents an unacceptable present and future of consumer banking that leaves Canadians vulnerable to extremely careless automation. 11. I am leaving RBC due to AI bias in computing that I believe has led to excessive extra hours, excessive security scrutiny, instead of providing assistance and access.

Do you like to be locked out of your credit card for no reason? Choose RBC! Do you want to spend hours screaming at their abominable "RBC virtual assistant", only for it to misunderstand you and send your to the wrong department? Choose RBC! Want to waste hours and hours on the phone with them on hold, because they fired most of their staff to promote shareholder value? Choose RBC! Want to receive the worst customer experience ever? Choose RBC!
At this point I'd choose crytpto-currency over using RBC, at least it seems to work when I try to buy something online, unlike my RBC credit card. For a financial institution that ostensibly makes money from you spending money, they sure do make it difficult. They only get a 1-star rating because I'm not allowed to pick zero.

Stay away from this company! My dad and I are from Canada and came to the USA for golf. We have an RBC travel credit card that does not work when we travel. This is a travel credit card, and they canceled it when we travel, sending us in loops for 5 hours trying to get a hold of someone to fix it. We have been in the USA for 3 days now and can't buy anything because of this card. If we didn't have another credit card (not RBC), we would be stuck here with no money. We have been calling for 3 days, a total of 15 hours on hold, for absolutely no change. I would suggest never in a hundred lives go with RBC; their customer service would be better if I were talking to a wall. Do not, in any case, go with RBC.

Been with them for over ten years. Would not recommend to anyone. Their fraud department is useless and will not reimburse on any type of fraud and can take up to 8+ hrs to get a hold of. The fraud department is very rude and disrespectful, asking inappropriate questions and making accusations.
Their employees in the client care centre also do not take any types of complaints seriously. They do not side with the customer whatsoever.
I’d take my money and run from them. Not worth the hassle. Other banks have much better deals and perks. RBC only cares about the $ they rob from their clients.

Been with RBC for 25 years, finally leaving today. I’ve put up with years of condescending abusive behaviour, they jump at the chance to give me a $45 NSF fee for being short less than $1 and no remorse! Horrible horrible bank. Been with BMO for 6 months now and it’s light night and day. I finally feel valued.

I called RBC Bank because I received at least four different emails from RBC stating that a credit card I had applied for was denied and that I could call a phone number for additional information. Since I had NOT applied for an RBC Credit card, and have no idea why RBC would even have my email address, I was obviously worried about fraud. After spending over an hour on the phone with three different employees, they were only able to verbally tell me that RBC will be looking into why this occurred. Despite my several requests asking for an email or letter from RBC (to me) verifying that I had notified them of this situation, RBC continually refused to send me any verification that I had notified them of this problem. (My concern is of course what do I do if in a year they contact me and claim that I owe thousands of dollars for unpaid charges on a credit card.) They just kept sending me to different phone numbers. Three different employees claimed they could not send to me any verification that I had notified them that RBC was sending me repeated email notifications in error that applications of mine for credit were being denied. The refusal to send any verification to me was supposedly because I am not a client of theirs - which of course begs the entire question involved. I am now waiting about 50 more minutes for a call back from someone. No call back after over three hours.

The worst customer service experience in life at RBC vancouver Denman street. They don't care about customers at all, the business logic is stupid , at bank they just try to kick customer to other representatives. When you email or call bank representatives you never got a response. Once contact RBC you never want to have any business with this bank.

In USA as a snowbird, Received insurance check for hurricane Ian damage. As RBC customer in Canada the company made check payable to us and RBC as primary banker. Suddenly found that all RBC outlets in Florida have been closed and there is no where that one can deposit a check directly into an RBC account anywhere in Florida. Why are all the routine banking processes disappearing. What lousy service,

I wish I was able to leave NEGATIVE ONE MILLION STARS TO INFINITY AND BEYOND for this RBC GEORGIA BS BANK!!!!!! I have been a faithful RBC Georgia customer for 10 YEARS. They decided in October if 2021 to send me an email stating that I was using my account for illegal activities...I did not getting my pay deposited into my USA bank account was considered "ILLEGAL"... I get paid in USA funds...that was in October...I replied about 5 times to the email provided and keep in mind there is no phone number to contact anyone...so it takes an entire month before someone from customer care contacts me...such great customer service...she is ok and sympatric while on the call...no worries she assures me I will look into this and get back to you...she never did...so December comes and goes and I am thinking everything will be ok...January comes and my accounts are shut down the first week of January on a Friday no less...it is 3:30 pm when she calls me back and this time she is rude, no apology, nothing...just attitude with a sense of entitlement. I say to her that it is Friday and my accounts have been shut down...I needed my money for my diabetic drugs and heart medication...she is like well we sent you out a letter in December giving you the exact dates of when your account is going to be shut down so you could make other banking arrangements.
I'm like what letter????? I have not received any letter...she's like "oh well, not out fault you didn't get the letter." I replied with something that important you think it would have been sent "registered mail" ...no response from her.
Now I have to figure out I am going to do to get my money...go it figured out however it's going to take a month and a half to be processed...
Undue financial strain, late rent and bills because of the action of this RBS Georgia...all I can say.is be ware these are not the nice institution they want to you believe they are...and the best part no explanation was given as to why I am not longer their customer.

The RBC Bank Visa Signature Black Credit Card's starting credit limit is $5,000, according to customer service representatives. RBC Bank does not include any specific RBC Bank Visa Signature Black Credit Card credit limit information in the card's terms, though.
For the most part, RBC Bank Visa Signature Black Credit Card credit limits depend on each applicant's overall creditworthiness. Those with the highest income and best credit scores will generally be offered the highest starting credit limits.
That said, the RBC Bank Visa Signature Black Credit Card credit limit that you start with isn't necessarily your credit line forever. You can ask to get a credit limit increase by calling the RBC customer service number on the back of your card, but it's best not to do that more than once a year. RBC will also evaluate your account periodically to determine whether you are eligible for a credit limit increase. Paying on time and keeping your credit utilization low are key for getting unsolicited credit line increases with RBC Bank.
Yes, RBC Bank does charge a foreign transaction fee on its checking account. The RBC Bank Direct Checking debit card foreign transaction fee is 3% of any transaction, including ATM withdrawals.

A hard pull usually causes an applicant's credit score to drop by 5-10 points. Most people's scores bounce back within 3-6 months with responsible credit management, but it can take up to 12 months. You can learn more about how to minimize the credit score damage by reading this article.
RBC Bank points are worth 0.92 cents per point, on average. The value of RBC Bank points depends on which RBC Bank credit card you have and how you choose to redeem the points.
