I have to admit I've always received friendly, courteous service when dealing with a real person; however, their loan processing is a nightmare. Your initial contact is with a real person who listens carefully and seemingly takes notes. Then the process is turned over to AI, computers and algorithms. I was seeking a $65k HELOC with great credit and more than $1M in assets. The appraisal was done "online" and no one every actually visited the property. The appraisal I received in the mail, had no explanation and was largely based on the distressed nature of the home when I purchased it 10 years earlier. Since then the home has been fully renovated and expanded. Also, a separate 750 sq. ft. granny flat was constructed on the property. All I ever received was a notice of denial and the computer assessment. No personal contact. No opportunity to discuss the matter. Just a flat out rejection--now go away. Well, I will go away and find a financial institution that is ready, willing and able to do business with me.

MY ACCOUNT WAS HACKED AND THEY KNOW IT AND WILL NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. THOUGHT IT WAS INSURED! THEY HAVE THE WORST FRAUD DEPARTMENT AND SECURITY. MY GIRLFRIEND SWITCHED BANKS BECAUSE OF THIS SAME REASON.
They charge you $32 overdraft fees and double dip on every transaction. Even for a $1 overdraft. They will not reverse fees even if it's your first time.
When I sold my house I put the proceeds in a CD about 55K in SDCCU. A few months later I quit my job to go into business myself. With outstanding credit, SDCCU would not give my corporation a credit card because it was new. Even though credit cards are ALWAYS a personal debt of the named holder. I even conferred with management, but they refused. So I went across the street to US Bank and they gave my new corp a credit card with a credit limit of 7.5k. I think SDCCU falsely claims to be a friendly bank. That, to me, is a lie and seeing them say so has caused me to post my experience as a review.
Don’t go to the SDCCU in La Mesa near Grossmont. I arrived a minute before they closed, but they wouldn’t allow me in. I understand they close at 5pm, but I just got off work and rushed here in rush hour traffic. My bad for having a job and needing to stay til the end of my shift. Why can’t they close at 6pm to give their customers the opportunity to come into their branch when they know must customers get off work between 4-5pm. Seriously thinking of pulling my money out and going somewhere else.

This bank has lost its credibility. It's customer service has gone down the drain. Used to be a good credit union but no more. I'm going to be closing my account and opening in another credit Union. Very poor customer service.
The associates are very personable and always try and find the best rates for their members. I've always had a good experience when I've gone into any of the branch locations.
I would give zero stars if possible. I am going through a divorce and I have my own account. I tried to deposit a check payable to both me and my soon to be ex husband. My husband endorsed the check, as he agrees that the check belongs to me. SDCCU is REFUSING to deposit the funds into my account. They say that we have to have a joint account! Yet, they have accepted multiple checks payable to both my husband and me into HIS ACCOUNT!!! Apparently, you must have male genetalia to be able to deposit a 2 party check into a SDCCU account. I am now going to have to hire an attorney to assist me in this disgusting matter. I will be closing all accounts as soon as possible with this horrible place!!!

I had a mortgage with this company and paid it off as quickly as possible because of how difficult they were. Initially, during my real estate purchase which included a 1031 exchange, they upped the interest rate on me mid-escrow. They totally had me over the barrel as I couldn’t risk losing my 1031 exchange mid-escrow. Also, they would not allow paying extra principal payments online. I had to walk in my extra principal payments each month to the branch. The last straw was when they added $1100+ to the balance of my loan without informing me. When I brought it to their attention and asked why, I was told they did an audit and found that some of my extra principal payments were not figured right and they needed to add the interest back (without informing me). Their explanation made no sense as they supposedly thought just three out of dozens of extra principal payments (which were all paid the same) were in need of refiguring. All of these are shady practices and may even be illegal. I had a lot going on in my life at that time so didn’t have the energy to fight with them on these practices. I will never apply for a mortgage with SDCCU again!
The nine-digit code you are referring to is probably the credit union's routing number, which in San Diego County Credit Union's case is 322281617. You can inquire about your account number, which should also be nine or ten digits, by calling customer service at (877) 732-2848.
Yes, you can transfer funds to your existing SDCCU auto loan account from your checking or savings account from another financial institution, by providing your account number and the bank routing number.
