Suncoast Credit Union

I purchased a vehicle from Bradenton Toyota in July of 2022. It took me having to reach out to find out if my loan was even approved, and was NEVER sent my loan information. When my first car payment was due, I called Suncoat credit union to make a payment and asked them to mail me my loan information - including my member number and account number which I was NEVER given. I was assured I would receive the information in 7-10 business days and from there, I could use my member number to set up my online account, automatic withdrawal, etc. Mind you, I didn't have this information, could not access my account, and they would not provide this information over the phone. I never received the promised documentation. Fast forward to November: I receive a phone call from my grandmother (co-signer) saying her credit score had dropped 113 points due to Suncoast reporting a late payment. I immediately get on the phone with Suncoast and am assured that this issue would be resolved. I make a payment over the phone, and they filed a credit dispute and, again, assure me I will receive my loan documentation- including my member number and account number so that I can FINALLY access MY loan information and make MY car payment. Fast forward again, Suncoast denies the credit dispute and doesn't adjust my grandmother's credit dispute. I work FT, am a full-time graduate student studying Epidemiology, and am an active member of the veteran community. I am a very busy person and dedicate my time to helping others. I am literally appalled by the way in which this has all been handled. I have been talked to disrespectfully, essentially lied to in terms of how this issue would be addressed, and brushed off when inquiring about what lapse in communication, LEGAL documentation, and member support resulted from. Furthermore, I was told by Carlos in the Dispute Credit Reporting Department that Suncoast is aware of this issue and that it happens often. However, there is simply nothing they can do about it. There is nothing they can do about messing with individuals' livelihoods. There is nothing they can do about preventing my 70-year-old grandmother's ability to get approved for future loans due to this VERY significant negative mark and decrease in her credit report. There is nothing they can do about me having to delay using my hard-earned Veteran benefits to purchase a home in the future due to the credit impact this has taken. They acknowledge there was NOTHING I could have done differently had not received my member number, account number, and LEGAL documentation outlining the terms of the loan with them. There is nothing they can do except continue to take my money. I would NEVER suggest anyone take a loan out through Suncoast. This is quite literally the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I have never had any financial institution make me feel so small, powerless, and deceived.
i have been with suncoast for 18 yrs. i am sad to say that they have been going down hill in the past 3 to 4 years. it has gotten so bad that when an unauthorized charge hit my account, it takes 10 days to even look at whats going on. when i first was a member, it took 2-3 days tops. this is the 3rd debit card i have this year. sadly, i am done. i have to move to another bank. it makes me sick.

Very helpful! Good monthly payment. Talked to a few people and was approved in minutes, really easy to apply 3 steps and they’ll let you know.
i have a checking acct as well as a credit card from suncoast credit union. i have lost 1/2 of my income and contracted with freedom debt relief to pay the card on my behalf. well, i got a letter from suncoast telling me they will reject any and all direct deposits untill the 307.00 is paid. that is all well and good. but they have worked with suncoast for a long time. so, i have to pay the 307, (borrowed) and then pay the monthly payment AND pay freedom debt relief who i contracted with. refusing direct deposits is ILLEGAL but i never thought suncoast has blackmail on it's agenda. horrible bank.
Suncoast Credit Union Suncoast credit union has been a nightmare to deal with during our cash out mortgage. Right from the start they have messed us around, lied to us, shuffled us from banker to banker, delayed a transaction that should have been simple(took 5 months due to all their mistakes) and now today we called and spoke to a human that asked us atleast 10 questions regarding our account and then my husband was told that he could not be verified!! Are you effing kidding?!! So now he is going out into the rain to drive to the bank and once again deal with their inadequacy. We will be pulling 3, possibly 4 accounts from Sun Coast and moving to another financial institution. I suggest NOT using them for anything other than day to day banking!?
Paying the loan is hard if you do not have a checking account with suncoast. Transferring money from an external account takes almost about a week to complete. The other option would be to take cash to the bank but that’s also a bear. It should be easier just to make a payment
