Citibank does not charge an overdraft fee because it will not approve transactions that would overdraw your account. If you want to avoid having transactions get declined due to insufficient funds, you could sign up for the Citibank overdraft protection service. This allows you to transfer funds from a linked Citibank savings or money market account to cover the purchase. Citibank does not charge a fee for this service.
