- How to get it: To enroll in the American Express Platinum card Avis benefit, users will need to register on the Avis website and include the discount and upgrade codes found there. Just click the “Terms and Conditions” link on each offer page to retrieve the codes, and then enter them in the field at the bottom of the registration page.
- Avis Preferred program details: The Avis Preferred rental car benefit isn’t exclusive to American Express Platinum card holders. Anyone allowed to rent a car can join the company’s loyalty program.
- Avis benefits: Once you enroll, you will get priority service at the counter and special discounts. You’re also eligible for a free one-class car upgrade if you book a rental car through the AvisWorld website with an American Express Platinum card (or any eligible Amex card). You must enter the upgrade code included in the offer to be eligible.
It is also worth noting that after you enroll your American Express Platinum card to the Avis Preferred program and book a rental, your information and payment method will remain on file. This will allow for faster access to your car for future rentals (see Rates & Fees).
