One of the best credit cards for a 28-year-old is the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card. That’s because the card offers 2% cash rewards on purchases and has a $0 annual fee. On top of that, it comes with an intro APR of 0% for 12 months from account opening for purchases and qualifying balance transfers, followed by a regular rate of 18.74%, 24.74%, or 28.74% Variable. Just note that there’s a transfer fee of 3% intro for 120 days from account opening, then up to 5% (min $5). You can qualify for this card if you have good credit or better.
However, if your credit score isn’t quite there yet, there are still some solid options for 28-year-olds with fair credit, like the Upgrade Cash Rewards Visa®. This card offers 1.5% cash back on purchases and has a $0 annual fee. New cardholders can also earn a bonus by opening an Upgrade Rewards Checking Preferred account and making a few debit card purchases.
