When prompted, say “application status,” then enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security number to get an application status update. Otherwise, you can just wait for Capital One to mail a decision within 7 to 10 business days from the application submission date. Capital One does not allow applicants to check their application status online.
Checking your Capital One Platinum application status is helpful if you’re not immediately approved. But be warned: Capital One reps say that not all customers can access their card number using the mobile app before their physical card arrives, even if they have another Capital One card. And there are indeed reports of cardholders being unable to view new card information through the mobile app. Some have been able to make it work after logging out and signing back in, though.
