There are 3 Chase Sapphire hotel partners: World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy, and IHG Rewards Club. You can transfer points to these programs at a 1:1 rate. More specifically, you could swap 10,000 Chase Sapphire points for 10,000 World of Hyatt, Marriott Rewards, or IHG Rewards Club points. Note that you can transfer your points to hotel partners with both the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card.
Transferring Points to Hotel Partners: Things to Consider
When you transfer points to a Chase Sapphire hotel partner, you may be sacrificing your points' value in the process. Your points might be worth more if you don’t transfer them. If you do transfer them, their value depends on the hotel partner’s policies.
There is a convenience factor in play, too. The Chase Sapphire hotel partners are three of the biggest names in hospitality. So, if you travel a lot, there’s a good chance you have rewards with one of them. Pooling your earnings can be an effective way to save if you’re planning to stay at one of these hotel chains in the future. However, before you can save, you need to know how the transfer process works.
Things to Know Before Transferring Your Points
- You can only transfer rewards in 1,000-point increments.
- All transfers are final (no refunds).
- You cannot transfer points from a hotel partner to Chase Sapphire. It’s a one-way street.
It’s worth noting that in a sense, any major hotel chain can be considered a Chase Sapphire hotel partner. After all, you can book reservations at any of them with points through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal.
In other words, don’t get too caught up in the official partners, unless you already participate in one of their loyalty programs. The Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Chase Sapphire Reserve cards’ points offer more flexibility than you might think.
