No, Citi credit card ThankYou Points do not expire. However, if you close your account or you convert to a Citi credit card that doesn’t offer rewards, you will have 90 days to use the accumulated points. Otherwise, you will lose any unredeemed rewards.
Many rewards programs have points that expire due to inactivity, but you're safe with the Citi ThankYou Rewards Program. In addition, Citibank offers plenty of redemption options, including gift cards, travel, and charity. If you have questions about the Citi ThankYou Rewards Program, call (800) 950-5114 or the number you see on the back of your card for guidance.

No, Citi ThankYou Points do not expire as long as your account remains open and in good standing. But if you close your account, ThankYou Points will expire 60 days after doing so. It is also worth mentioning that ThankYou Rewards is Citi’s loyalty program. You must be approved for a Citi Thank You card such as the Citi Double Cash® Card or the Citi Strata Premier® Card in order to begin earning points. ThankYou cards earn points on various categories, depending on the card.
Other things to know about the Citi ThankYou Points:
To manage your rewards points, you will need to go through thankyou.com. Points can be redeemed at 1 cent each for gift cards, merchandise, or statement credits. You can also redeem points for purchases through Amazon.com when you link your ThankYou card as a payment method. Points’ redemption value varies by card, as well as by the redemption option used.
Generally, points are worth more when redeemed through the Citi Travel Center. Also, to get the biggest bang for your points, you can transfer ThankYou Points to one of Citi’s travel partners. Points transfer at a 1:1 ratio and can be redeemed for airlines such as JetBlue Airways or Virgin Atlantic.
