You can try to get your Capital One account back in good standing by making payments on time and resolving any past due balances. Please note that the company doesn’t clearly define what losing your “good standing” means, or how to officially restore your account if it has fallen behind.
Generally speaking, being in good standing means your account is current, you haven’t missed payments, and you’re meeting the terms of your agreement. If your account is past due, charged off, or was settled for less than what you owed, it may no longer be considered in good standing.
To fix that, you’d typically need to bring the account current, pay off the balance, or work out a plan with Capital One. If the account is closed or charged off, it might not be possible to fully restore it, but you can still rebuild your credit by making timely payments and using your other accounts responsibly.
To see exactly what can be done to bring back your Capital One account in good standing, your best option is to contact Capital One directly.
