No, there aren’t any unsecured credit cards for bad credit that guarantee at least a $1,000 starting limit. Most unsecured cards aimed at people with bad credit tend to start in the few-hundred-dollar range. If you absolutely want a guaranteed $1,000 limit, your safest bet is a secured credit card. With those, you can usually set your own credit limit based on the size of your security deposit.
That said, starting at $1,000 with an unsecured card isn’t impossible. Your credit score isn’t the only thing issuers look at when determining your limit. If you’ve got steady income and little to no debt, there’s a chance you could land a four-figure starting limit, even with bad credit - but there’s no guarantee.
Unsecured Cards for Bad Credit That Could Offer a $1,000 Limit
Options are pretty limited when your credit isn’t in great shape. The silver lining is that higher credit limits and better offers tend to follow better credit. If you get a credit card and focus on paying on time and keeping balances low, your credit score will eventually improve.
