Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade your Nordstrom Store Card to the Nordstrom Credit Card. While it is technically possible to ask for the Nordstrom Credit Card under the pretext of an upgrade, such a request will trigger a hard pull on your credit and if approved, will open a new account. In other words, you'd be getting a separate, new credit card.
Applicants typically get approved for the Nordstrom Store Card after first being considered and turned down for the Visa version. So, if you want to apply for the Nordstrom Credit Card, you should try to improve your credit score, first. The Nordstrom Credit Card requires at least good credit or better for approval.
