The Wells Fargo Autograph® Card may use Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion credit reports to assess your creditworthiness when you apply. So, if any of your credit reports are frozen, you should unfreeze them before applying for the card.
Key Things to Know
- When you apply, Wells Fargo will perform a hard inquiry on your credit report, which might temporarily reduce your credit score by up to 5 points.
- If you’re approved for the card, Wells Fargo will report information about your card usage and payment history to the credit bureaus once a month.
- It doesn’t matter too much which credit report Wells Fargo pulls when you apply, because your major credit reports contain nearly identical information. If one includes negative information, the other two probably will as well.
- It’s a good idea to regularly check for any mistakes on your credit report so you can dispute them right away – and to do this before you apply for a card.
You can keep tabs on your TransUnion credit report, as well as check your credit score for free, right here on WalletHub.
