No, Chase does not give instant issue physical cards, even when you apply at a branch. However, if you apply online, Chase’s "Spend Instantly" feature lets you add a virtual version of your new card to a digital wallet right after approval, so you can start using it before the physical card arrives in the mail. Just note that some co-branded credit cards may not be eligible.
You may receive an instant decision when you apply for any Chase card online. If you are approved, it takes around 7-10 business days for the card to arrive.
How to Add Your Chase Virtual Card to a Digital Wallet
- Using the Chase Mobile app, choose the card you want to add, scroll down to “Account Services” and then select “Digital Wallets.”
- Choose from your list of available digital wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
- Select your new card.
- Once the card has been added to your wallet, you can use it right away.
Instant-Issue Chase Debit Cards
Chase no longer offers instant issue cards, and it typically takes 3 - 5 business days for them to arrive. However, there are a few major banks and credit unions that do instantly issue debit cards. Navy Federal, PNC, and others will print your debit card in the branch the day you sign up for an account. Not only will you have your debit card in minutes instead of days, but you’ll have immediate access to your funds without having to use any paper checks you get when opening a new account.
