Yes, you can use AAA immediately after joining and making your initial payment. If you get an AAA Plus or Premier plan, you will have to wait seven days before extended benefits are available, according to some regional AAA clubs, but you’ll still benefit from AAA Basic coverage in the meantime.
Key Things to Know About Using Your AAA Membership
- To get immediate roadside assistance help from AAA, call 800-222-4357.
- If you do use your AAA roadside assistance services on your first day of coverage, you may be charged an extra fee.
- Each regional AAA club has different policies, and some impose a 48-hour wait period after you have paid before your coverage goes into effect, even if you purchased a Basic membership. However, some clubs allow you to pay a $75 fee to waive the wait period and get help right away, and AAA may waive the waiting period automatically if your safety is in jeopardy.
