Yes, Farmers uses telematics with Signal, a program that tracks your driving habits using a mobile app. You can get a participation discount when you sign-up for Signal, and the better you drive, the more you can save with Farmers.
How Farmers's Signal Works
- Tracks total mileage, braking, speeding, distracted driving, and the time of day that you drive
- Uses a mobile app for tracking
- Has a participation discount just for signing up
- Offers a discount for safe driving
- Available in all states except CA, FL, HI, NY and SC
In order to use Signal, you need to have an internet connection and enable location services on your phone, which will allow the app to automatically record trips when it detects driving activity. After you've logged at least 10 trips, the safe-driving discount will be applied when your renew your policy. The discount lasts for as long as you are enrolled in Signal. Keep in mind that if you don't drive responsibly while using Signal, Farmers may raise your rate instead of giving you a discount.
