Spirit points serve as the currency within the Free Spirit loyalty program, allowing members to earn and redeem points for benefits such as flights, products, and services with select partners. Here's how Free Spirit points work:
- Earning Points: Members can earn Spirit points by booking and flying on Spirit-operated flights. The number of points earned is typically based on the fare paid and the member's Free Spirit status level. Additionally, points can be earned through various partner offers, including hotel stays, car rentals, credit card spending, dining, and more.
- Redeeming Points: Spirit points can be redeemed for award flights on Spirit Airlines, as well as for products and services with select partners. The number of points required for redemption depends on factors such as flight destination, fare class, and availability.
- Pooling Points: Spirit Airlines allows members to combine their Free Spirit points with up to 8 friends or family members, making it easier to redeem rewards. To create a pool, the “Pool Pilot” must have either Free Spirit Silver or Gold Status or hold a Free Spirit Credit Card.
- Points Expiration: Spirit points expire after 12 months of account inactivity. To keep your points from expiring, make sure to earn or redeem points within that time frame.
- Elite Status: Spirit offers two elite status tiers within its Free Spirit program: Silver and Gold status. These tiers provide additional benefits such as bonus points, free first checked and carry-on bags, seat selection at booking (with options like exit rows), and a free inflight beverage that includes alcohol, snacks, and more.
Keep in mind that while there are other ways to use your points, booking flights typically provides the best value. Spirit’s loyalty program is designed to help members maximize their rewards when traveling with the airline.
