It can take up to 72 hours for points from Southwest flights to post to your account. For points earned through partners, the timing can vary and may take up to 6-8 weeks, depending on how you earn them.
How Long It Takes for Southwest Points to Post
- Southwest flights: Points will post to your account within 72 hours after you complete your entire trip.
- Partner hotel stays: Points will post to your account within 8-12 weeks after your stay is completed.
- Partner car rentals: Points will post to your account within 6-8 weeks after you return the car.
- Rapid Rewards Shopping: Points will post to your account within 6-8 weeks after your purchase date.
- Rapid Rewards Dining: Points will post to your account within 4-6 weeks after you dine.
- Purchased, gifted, or transferred points: Points will post to the recipient's account within 72 hours after the transaction is complete.
- Credit Cards: Points from your card spending usually post to your Rapid Rewards account within 30 days after each billing cycle ends. Initial bonuses can take up to 8 weeks to post.
If you don’t see your points in your account within the expected timeframe, you can submit a missing points request through Southwest’s online form or customer service. This will help ensure that any missing points are properly credited to your account.
