Bank of America Credit Card Reviews
What's Your Rating?
That honestly says everything.
I've been with them for about 15 years. Debit card, credit card, direct deposit, disability income, military pay, civilian income everything flowed through that account. I'm a disabled veteran, so this wasn't a side relationship; this was my main bank for over a decade.
Around 7-8 years ago, their autopay failed me. I always paid before closing, but one month it didn't process. No email, no call straight to the credit bureau.
I called, disputed, and they admitted the setup was confusing. Fixed.
Then it happened again years later. The same process call, dispute, recover.
After 2020, I decided I was done with debt. I:
• consolidated balances
• stopped carrying interest
• picked up a second job
• drove Uber at night
• dealt with real financial stress at home
It wasn't easy, but I climbed out.
Now I have 10-12 cards. I use one regularly. The rest run small subscriptions and get paid monthly.
In other words, I use credit responsibly and don't owe anyone money.
And now the reward:
Account closed for inactivity.
My oldest line the one helping my credit history the most.
Lesson?
You're valuable when you carry debt.
You're useless when you don't.
To my brothers and sisters in uniform active, guard, reserve, retired seriously consider credit unions. They serve members, not shareholders. Big banks sell financial wellness but profit from dependence.
Credit scores matter, I know.
But I'd rather rebuild from 650 to 800 than stay in a game where the rules change when you win.
Just a warning from someone who did everything right and still got penalized.
